The Official Devil May Cry Thread

I feel like its pretty clear these remastered editions are nothing more than the result of publishers scrambling to get content out on these new platforms (which they weren't ready for / are selling way better than expected) so they can start cashing in.

Having said that, I'm 100% in favor releasing old games on new consoles, provided the ports are good of course. It makes it so much easier for people to go back and play games they might have missed out on before, thus creating new fans and making the franchise stronger. For example, I know for a fact that there are a ton of new MGS fans thanks to the HD collection.

I think it's kind of ridiculous that there are people that are against this. Are you also against old films getting released on Blu-ray or digital formats? Imagine how ridiculous it would be if old movies were never released on new formats and every time you wanted to watch an old movie, you had break out the DVD or VHS player. Yet with games, console gaming anyway, this seems to be the norm.

Minor rant over.

Well, I think will the elimination of backwards compatibility of the PS4 and Xbone this is probably more valid than before. But it is also not a good analogy, because of the cost associated with games vs those with films (though TV shows are getting pretty expensive). I also, personally, don't find the leap to be all that significant from SD to HD for games. Most of the HD remasters I've played have been kind of weak from a technical perspective. Of course, I'm probably not the target for this kind of stuff, since I don't really buy remasters of games I own outside a few key exceptions.

IA with Spider-Aziz bc it does have good gameplay and I complete disagree with you in terms of everything else you wrote
That is nice, but the proof is in the game. Bayonetta 2 and Revengeance both came out over the last two years and dance all over this below average game.

Damn, if there is one thing that the first Devil May Cry did with utmost dedication, it was the music.

Have any of you heard Sparda's Image? Freaking amazing music.

Man, I'd still kill for a DMC Prequel, that features Sparda as the main protagonist.

For 5 the original universe I just wanted them to do what was planned for Dark siders final installment game optional co-op in the demon dimension against those demo that keep coming to earth looking for their dad and that Vergil is at war with over there for control of the place and for Dante to do what was hinted at the anime to save his bro from him self as he promised their mother.

The whole reason Vergil went over there was to avenge his mothers murder by demons, he just chose to do their tactic's to destroy them.

What's the point of posting that part from the anime?

the etire reason the demon keep coming to earth is cause of their dad & they're still looking for him weirdly & the fact the reason of why Vergil wanted to head over to demon world and other factor's like them being born with that hair of theirs being white from birth all told in this series . with the first universe.

as to the other game made with ninja theory, I have no issue with it so I'm neutral in the argument . If they make a 5 I hope they end it with what I said cause it would be cool.

DmC Devil May Cry Shows Off Some Of The New Tricks Up Its Sleeve. February 2, 2015 . 12:28pm

Capcom recently shared a little more footage from DmC Devil May Cry: Definitive Edition, showing off some of the new features in the game. You can watch the footage above, and here’s a rundown of what’s in it, as pointed out on Capcom Unity:

  • Footage is a mixture of the Xbox One and PS4 versions.
  • Music track is “Barbas Theme” off the DmC Noisia soundtrack.
  • 0:25 – Triple Angel Evade. This is new to Definitive Edition
  • 0:28 – Circling Osiris Streak – This was technically doable before, but much more practical to execute with the manual lock-on–pretty much works no matter what, as long as you’re locked on.
  • 0:40 – Caliber chasing. Doable without manual lock-on, but the hard tracking makes it a more reliable/exploitable(?) technique. Try it out and do cool things!
  • 0:44 – Another crazy circling Osiris Streak.
  • 0:56 – The action syncing up with the music here is what we call a “happy accident.”
  • 1:05 – Dodging to the side while locked onto an enemy will cause Dante to circle around the enemy, allowing all sorts of new tactics. Note the reduced input time for the Stinger, allowing me to dodge and sting all in one fluid motion. Dreamrunner doesn’t know what hit him.

If you want to see even more footage, Capcom have been livestreaming the game every week. You can watch one of the more informative livestreams along with notes here.

DmC Devil May Cry: Definitive Edition will be available for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 this March.

How do I beat the flaming spider boss in Devil May Cry? I'm stuck with it in a room in Mallet Castle and keep dying.

Unless you're playing on Easy mode, lots of dodging and careful attacks. In these games, Normal mode is pretty much Hard mode, so keep that in mind. And as the video above shows, go for his head.

Alastor's DT flying move does decent damage to it. Like some other folks said, go for it's head. If I remember correctly Stinger's to his face may stagger him from time to time.

Very stoked for this. Loved the way the game played, but they just fixed all my issues with gameplay. Very cool. The manual lock, 60fps and turbo mode should be sick!

Yea I can't wait to try the 60fps. I usually can't tell a difference but Iv hesrd it's pretty significant with this game

The PC version looks and plays drastically better than the PS3 version. Im glad its the version I played bc when I tried the Plus version, it was a downgrade and I just couldnt
