Capcom is showing off Devil May Cry 5’s flashy action at TGS 2018, and we got a look at of gameplay action from its latest stage event. The footage shows off various Devil Breaker moves and a Goliath boss fight.

The video starts out with a tutorial for basic actions, such as using the Devil Breaker, Break Age, and how you can catch and ride the Devil Breaker. It then covers other fundamentals with the Destination View that is used to target the destination with the camera. This helps when you get lost by simply holding down L3 for a couple seconds to see where to go next.

The next part demonstrates the Gerbera, which is when you launch shockwaves from the Devil Breaker. After showing Nero put his action to use in several battles, around the 15:25 mark of the video we get to see a boss fight against the Incandescent Colossus – Goliath.

Devil May Cry 5 releases on March 8, 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. You can check out more footage featuring Nero here, a look at the Mega Man-inspired “Mega Buster” here, and info about its online multiplayer and PC system requirements here.

So random guesses. What if V is Nero's brother, both kids of Vergil? Also with all the Angelos running around, including one that looks just like Nelo from the first game, I wonder if Vergil is the enemy or if his power is being used by someone else. Like he has been captured and being drained.

well I need something cleared up " both in game& if they ever do another anime." first & for most I need them to make it clear if neo is vergil's or if he's actual another son of sparda( kinda like spada be the Zeus or Odin of the Devil may cry universe)

I'm hoping vergil isn't the Enemy this time . I'm still on what was said in the anime about dante's promis to his mother. I kinda want this serise to hope where I see the dark siders series head I hope it's be them against the demon that have been after the children of sparda and to have co-op or competitive adventure game at some point like what bayo had to a degree. I hope it's another demon that just wanted Vergil's katana blade.

from what I under stood of that anime alot of demon's want sparda's throne half of which still don't reallise sparda's dead(or maybe he's a dead beat like in some verson's like where odin and zeus are always portrayed ) for what ever reason .

this was added this weekend when ign putehri weird video's in valid thing other outlet steppupit seems.

Devil May Cry 5’s Red Orb upgrades will be balanced just like “all the other DMCs”
9 hours ago | 1 Comment
September 25, 2018 In the wake of the controversy over Devil May Cry 5’s microtransactions, Capcom assures fans that it won’t affect normal progression.

Devil May Cry 5 will feature microtransactions that can be used to level up your characters. In a new build of the game, playable at the Tokyo Game Show, fans found that they were able to purchase Red Orbs – which have featured throughout the series as in-game currency – as use their earnings to upgrade their characters. The news has generated unsurprising controversy, but Capcom says there’s no reason to worry. Read more

Devil May Cry 5 is selling its live action cutscenes as DLC

Devil May Cry 5 digital pre-orders have just gone live, revealing the curious detail that the Deluxe Edition will include live action cutscenes. Not interested in all the deluxe goodies? That’s okay, because you’re free to purchase every item included in the special version separately, and DLC with the highest premium happens to be the added movies.

Those live action scenes are $3.99, and according to the store description the option “changes the in-game cutscenes to the live-action movies recorded during development.” So these scenes act as replacements for the existing movies rendered in-game, but we don’t know exactly what form they’ll take. They could be full, movie-style scenes or just built from mocap footage. Read more

Devil May Cry 5 system requirements are here

Devil May Cry 5 pre-orders went live on Steam today, and you know what that means – yes, system requirements. The stylish action game won’t demand too much of your GPU – relative to any other big-budget 3D game, at least – though CPU requirements are a bit stiffer than you might’ve expected.Read more

Devil May Cry 5 Talks About V, The Return Of Dante, And Nero’s Devil Breaker. September 24, 2018 . 3:00pm

Devil May Cry 5 was one of the most popular games at TGS 2018, and director Hideaki Itsuno took some time to talk about the new character V, the return of Dante, and Nero’s Devil Breaker in an interview.

Devil May Cry 5 was one of the most popular games at TGS 2018, and director Hideaki Itsuno, who has kept the role since taking over as director for Devil May Cry 2, talked about the new character V, the return of Dante, and Nero’s Devil Breaker in an interview with Eurogamer.

Here are some highlights from the interview, starting with talk about the new character V:

Eurogamer: A good starting point would be what’s just been revealed at TGS. V’s a new character – what can you tell me about him?

Hideaki Itsuno: V, he’s the third playable character. We saw him in the trailer – from a story perspective, he’s your new client. He’s the kind of impetus in the game. In terms of gameplay, he plays completely different from Nero and Dante. He doesn’t have a sword, he doesn’t have guns. He has a cane and a book… How does he fight with that stuff? We can’t wait to have people to look into that.

He can just read stories to his enemies until they fall asleep? Also, he’s got nothing to do with Vergil, right?

Hideaki Itsuno: You make a great point, there’s all kinds of stuff on the internet, some people are saying is it Vergil, maybe he’s someone’s son. You see all these different theories. We don’t want to spoil it!

On Devil May Cry 5’s photo-real look

You’re on the RE Engine now – you’re obviously a very stylised game but there are these photoreal faces, and when it comes to something like Resident Evil you see something like Resident Evil 7 uses a lot of real-life references. Was that something you were doing with DMC 5 – and when it comes to characters like Dante that people have known and loved for years, how do you go about doing that photo-real look?

Hideaki Itsuno: I’m happy that you feel it works from a photo-real perspective. That’s something we worked really hard at. The way we approached it, we took some of those characters and we did some location scouting in London. We thought if we were going to make a city that was going to look a bit like London, what does it look like? We got a bunch of pictures, we all went and experienced it. We came back, and we approached it thinking let’s design these characters so that they wouldn’t feel out of place in a realistic city like that. If you saw Dante, you saw Nero in that city, it wouldn’t feel like they were filming some kind of low budget TV show, it didn’t feel like some kind of toy.

We approached the design from that kind of perspective – the colours, they shouldn’t feel cheap, they need to feel realistic. Even the accessories and stuff – they need to feel like something you’d see in the real world, so we spent a lot of time on that.

On the return of Dante and how he has evolved and changed:

Dante’s playable here at TGS – how has he evolved, how has he changed?

Hideaki Itsuno: With Dante, when we approached evolving things with characters, we felt that taking stuff away tends to upset people. So we tried to approach it from not taking stuff away – let’s try and add stuff, and add stuff that’s in the spirit of what everyone loves. With Dante, he has more weapons this time than he does in DMC 4. The interesting challenge there – for people who are really used to playing as Dante will be able to switch between three and four weapons on the fly, switch between multiple ranged weapons with one button and between multiple melee weapons with another button.

For some players that might be a little overwhelming. The big evolution with Dante, it’s giving people the choice. If they want they can have load-outs for their equipment. Do I want all slots filled and cycle between those weapons? Maybe I just want two weapons, maybe I just want Cavalier and Rebellion and that way switching between them is super easy, it’s just one button press, or maybe they want four but they want them in a specific order. Oh, and there’s another big thing about Dante but that’s a spoiler so I don’t want to talk about it yet…

On Nero’s Devil Breaker:

You say you don’t want to take anything away, but you’ve got the ammo system for Nero’s Devil Breaker – you don’t always have access to your full arsenal and have to scout for consumables. Is that a concern, or are you happy with how it works?

Hideaki Itsuno: At the beginning, we had a lot of people in the team fighting over it. Should you be able to change your Devil Breaker whenever you want or not? Our answer became ‘no’, because Nero and Dante need to play differently – they can’t do the same thing. We wanted to introduce, for the first time in Devil May Cry, consumable weapons. With any luck, that introduces a new element of gameplay when you’re playing with Nero. You have to strategise – okay, this is what I have in my roster, and this is the order you’re in (which you can customise), but it’s got to feel different to Dante. With Dante you can change whatever you want on the fly, and that’s fine. With Nero you’ve got the Blue Rose and you’ve got the Devil Breakers.

At one point in development we thought that maybe the Devil Breakers should have different moves depending on which one you had, and you had to do command inputs. But we decided the Devil Breaker should be this simple thing, and the move itself depends on what situation you’re in. So Overture, you shoot up this big electric hand. If the enemy’s above you you’ll do it above you automatically, if they’re on the ground it’ll be on the ground. It should be this kind of thing where it’s less to think about. It’s more about here are my two things, how best do I use those.

You can read the full interview over at Eurogamer.

Devil May Cry 5 releases on March 8, 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Check our previous report for the latest details from TGS 2018 with info on how Dante was designed to have more weapon freedom as well as free-flowing hair.

Does anyone think the preorder weapons are worth it? Or should I just wait for the game of the year version? Call me old school, but I prefer whole games.

I'd probably wait for a price cut for this and that could take 2 years.

Thing is Ive only played the 3rd one which is the best reviewed from 1 to dmc. And it was fun but i didnt play it again. Maybe I'd pick up 1, 2 and 4 first. But this series didnt win me over compare to other videogame franchises

Please do not pick up 2. You probably won't have a choice if you buy the HD collection for 1, but just pretend there's blank space between 1 and 3. As someone who's played the only DMCs worth a damn (1,3,4), I'd say get 4 before one, unless you really want to play the origin of the series.

I'm gonna buy the ps4 collection before dmc5 so I'd probably play all of it. Not just that excited since as Ive already played 3.

A comprehensive training mode.

DMC5-Dev-Diary_11-10-18.jpg

Capcom has released a new developer diary for Devil May Cry 5 introducing “The Void,” a comprehensive training mode playable in the game.

Here is an overview of the developer diary, via Capcom:

Devil May Cry 5 producer Matt Walker joined director Hideaki Itsuno from Capcom’s head office in the vibrant city of Osaka to show off the rich culture of the city and share how the team draws from their surroundings. Itsuno provided insight into how Capcom’s action games are influenced by the Osaka area, before giving Inside Xbox a first look at the comprehensive training mode he’s created for Devil May Cry 5 – dubbed ‘The Void’. As a first for Xbox fans, Itsuno gave a personal tour of Nero’s Devil Breakers, including the bonus Devil Breakers available in the Deluxe Edition content of Devil May Cry 5.

Capcom also announced that more information on Devil May Cry 5 will be shared at The Game Awards 2018 on December 6. Read more about the awards show here.

Devil May Cry animated series announced from Castlevania executive producer, connected by ‘bootleg multiverse’
Published 14 hours ago. 110 comments.
Don't worry. The jabronis in Hollywood won't mess it up.

DMC-Animated-Series_11-16-18.jpg

An animated series adaptation of Capcom’s Devil May Cry franchise is in the works from Castlevania animated series executive producer Adi Shankar, the creator confirmed to IGN.

The Devil May Cry animated series will join the Castlevania animated series in what Shankar called a “bootleg multiverse.” Shankar did not further elaborate on what this means, but teased, “Let the speculation begin. You can read into that all you want.”

Shankar assured that he “acquired these (Devil May Cry) rights myself so the jabronis in Hollywood don’t **** this one up, too,” which should allow him more creative freedom.

Further information was not announced.

So Capcom is changing the vocalist, but will keep the song "Subhuman". Which is disappointing, because I think everything about that song is terrible. That includes the instrumentals.

Devil May Cry 5 – An important update on Dante’s theme song “Subhuman”

Hello everyone, today we have an important update on Dante’s theme song “Subhuman.” Read on below:

Earlier this year, we debuted Dante’s new battle theme from Devil May Cry 5, “Subhuman”, performed by Cody Matthew Johnson feat. Suicide Silence. Shortly after the song’s reveal, we were made aware of unfortunate news and allegations about the track’s main vocalist Eddie Hermida. While the song was written and recorded in-game well before such allegations, we’d still like to ensure, to the best of our abilities, that your experience with the game ultimately goes unmarred. As such, our development team, producers, recording and mixing teams have worked hard to find and implement a new vocal track by Michael Barr.

It is worth noting that the hard work of the Suicide Silence band members, as well as song writers Cody Matthew Johnson & Mark Heylmun, remained intact, as they were not involved with the incidents. As you hear the new track in new promotional materials and in-game, please expect the instrumental parts to sound the same as before. In-game credits have also been updated to properly reflect the new recording.
