Just read the Gambit :From the Vault one shot that came out yesterday. They should have left it in the vault. Our beloved had hardly any accent and they forgot about his eyes. Don't these guys do any research before they write and color? The story was lame and the humor forced and unfunny. Why oh why do I buy these one shots when it seems like lately they all pretty much just suck?

Random Gambit related note: he made the cover of the upcoming X-Men: Destiny video game.

He's not going to be playable, because the game focuses on three original characters (you choose one of the three, I think). However, he is confirmed to appear. His in-game bio seems to suggest he's once again leading a group called the Externals (keep in mind that the game's got its own universe and continuity going on).

In popular company at that. The other three X-Men on the cover are Cyclops, Emma Frost and Wolverine.

Funny how he gets picked for the games a lot and yet can't get some decent use in the comics.

Yeah, it seems a bit cartoony to me. It reminded me of a Lego game, where the characters aren't so realistic. I don't feel an overwhelming urge to buy it.

Considering X-23 is unfortunately cancelled, I think Marvel should give Liu a new Gambit solo to write. I think she'd do wonders with him and he has a fanbase that could sustain a new ongoing

Yeah i'd defo by a Liu Gambit mini.

But considering they won't even give Gambit a good role in a book other then a supporting character to Rogue or even in a team book, it seems doubtfull.

Looks like Xmas has come early. I haven't bought Astonishing since Whedon's run, so looks like I will have to start picking it up again! So glad Marvel has the sense to hold on to Liu and put her on a team book! Sad about X-23 though. I really like the series.

Hi everyone,

I'm making my yearly visit. In response to the above posts, Gambit being on the Astonishing team is wonderful. Since Rogue has taken up with Magneto, he doesn't have any reason to hang out on her team. I think that's sad because I loved their relationship. What I think they should have is him commiserating with Belladonna over bon bons.

I guess he'll be comisserating with Frenzy, lol. Looks like the two of them are going have a fling if not more.
