I wonder when Montoya will start to trust Gordon as usually she is younger than him and sees him as a mentor, but the dynamic is different in this show.

Hey,it looks like someone's back in the red!Congrats Hunter!:woot:

Thanks man.

One of the most interesting aspects of Batman is his villains, instead of doing something more along the lines of Gotham Central, they do a show about Batman's villains before they are interesting. And keep wondering, what's the point of that?

At first I thought Jada Pinkett Smith would bother me but I'm actually enjoying the heck out of her character and her portrayal. Some of the acting is spotty but I'm digging the show.

The age gaps don't bother me as long as I don't think about it. I'm more interested in the story. Either in this season or the next, I really want to see Tommy Elliot.

They've also missed the absolutely most interesting aspect of Batman: Batman. So does that make the show even more pointless?

Yes, if it were a show about Batman's villains, it would be pretty pointless. It being about Gordon, and moreover, the city as a whole, it gives us the part of the mythos that's rarely ever explored. The time between the Wayne's dying and Bruce putting on the mask. That has always been the point, and it's critically and commercially successful in doing that. Be happy for it.

I like the show even though it has flaws, but my concern now is that they are throwing too many future Batman villians in one season. It's almost like Fox is pulling out all the stops early because they aren't sure of the shows survival past season one, which I hope isn't the case. Also, the ages of the characters are a concern because Harvey Dent is going to be a young attorney here in his 20's but I thought it was maybe only a few years older than Bruce like two or three. The logical explanation is that Bruce will be Batman at the age of 20 here since he is currently 12. Other wise the villians like Two Face, Riddler, Penguin will be super old by the time he becomes Batman.

Them being in a largely different generation is interesting. I think they intentionally cast guys who can pass for twenty somethings. A 30 something Batman and a 40-something rogues gallery actually sounds just about right. Now in reality, the ages may not line up so cozily, but the show isn't going to have David Mazouz kickboxing with Nick D'agosto ever so I think we're cool.

It's still a little early for renewal talks, but everything is looking great so far.

By the way, for all the UK and Ireland fans, the show premieres on 13th October at 9PM on Channel 5.

They've done right by it so far... so let's see if they maintain it.

It is early, true, but it's done fairly well considering it's competition, and when you take into account how poorly everything else on FOX (new and old, but especially new) is faring, I'd say Gotham's renewal chances are quite strong.

Gotham seems like the only new show that has a chance at being renewed. I haven't seen Gracepoint though but isn't that a one time deal anyway.

It does look really good right now.
Has all of Gotham's competition premiered ?
BBT is moving after next week , right?.

She was on Spartacus.

get it over with and get it renewed after tonight's numbers come in...

I dont know if I already mentioned it but what if they introduce Holiday as a recurring villain for each holiday special? Maybe for next season or something they could do something similar to The Long Halloween. Then have the story conclude in the next years Halloween episode.

So Idk how extensively this has been discussed but I was watching episode 2 and I see some evidence that points to this show taking place later than the 90's at the earliest. At first I thought it might have been the 80's based on the cars and overall look/feel, but episode 2 says otherwise. The cordless phone barbera uses, and the cell phone and truck penguin steals makes me think this takes place in the early 2000's. Meaning Bruce would be in his twenties around this time.

I'm thinking time jumps between seasons might help this show

I just find it interesting that they chose the time frame that they chose. Im definitely getting a post 1999 feel. Either that or they goofed with penguins phone, and truck, and barbs cordless phone.
