Loved the Bruce Alfred and Reggie stuff. And totally agree everything we've seen between Alfred and Bruce has been great.
I love the implication that Alfred's past in the military has impacted Bruce so deeply. Alfred's past plays a large role in Bruce's no kill rule.

Yes definitely. Honestly there is a lot of other things on this show that I do enjoy. But I totally wouldn't be opposed to just watching a whole episode of Bruce and Alfred haha.

Yeah finally saw it last night after I got home from work. It felt really awkward her interaction with Selina. The first instance out on the balcony it felt like she was creepily hitting on Selina :funny:

Yeah, I am not sure if it is written with those undertones or it is just the way Erin Richards plays it, but it does come off that way.

It also really doesn't help that the show has gone out of its way to establish Barbara as a bisexual woman who's had a past (and most likely recent) addiction to drugs as well so seeing her with Selina like that, it's no wonder why people would think that Barbara would be capable of potentially hitting on a underage female.

Man, I wonder if it's even possible at this point to redeem her character?

Exactly. I Feel they are trying to be "edgy" but it's not really working. I would venture to say that's Fox, more than DC making that call.

I don't understand how a cheating runaway finance has the gumption to be all mad and frustrated to find the person she screwed over, has moved on.

A cheating runaway drug addict, don't forget that part. And yeah it makes no sense for her to be mad at him.

Drug addicts are not generally known for their common sense and rationality, else they wouldn't be addicts in the first place.

I was just a foot away from Gordon and Bullock a few minutes ago.

Seems weird that they'd spoil a development like that in a preview video, but hey.

It does seem strange to put so much out there in a promo during the season. Is the show off for a few weeks or something and they want to hype up interest for the return ep? Either way it looks like good stuff.

Yeah they tend to spoil episodes a couple days before they air, it's weird. Usually a show would have one clip or two for the next episode, Gotham puts out like 5 long clips every week.

At least this looks like it should get Penguin back into the spotlight. The last few episodes have made him out to be an inept child that's over reaching. I liked ruthless Cobblepot from the first few episodes. Not the one that can't even hire quality talent.

As long as Barbara and Fish are kept to a minimum, this should be good.

Ep.17 Review (Red Hood)

i haven't had time to read back for the last episode or this thread so I apologize, but i had to get this off my chest.

WTF are they doing to this great series?? I have no idea why they would spend time with barbara hanging out with Ivy and Selina, in the condo??? that's crazy and stupid and makes no sense. The showrunners must come to their senses that the actress they chose to play Barbara sucks. The character they wrote sucks. Scrap it, and introduce a new Barbara, and let's move on.

Second, they introduce a decent character/love interest in the good Dr. Leslie, and out of nowhere make her a completely irrational and emotional weirdo. She went from interesting and cute to annoying and now just counting down from when she's out of Jim's life.

Do I need to go on how they've stumbled with the Penguin and Fish? jesus.

sorry, but the last two episodes have been a big letdown. The Barbara G. character has surpassed Lana from Smallville by leaps and bounds as the worst character on any tv show ever. her and Dr. Leslie are weakening Jim's character. The only strong plot line hanging on is Bruce. at this point. they need to right the ship ASAP.

The best part about that speech was when Selina put Barbara in her place "what good has it done you?" or something to that affect. :funny:

She could of said she lives in a penthouse rent free.

I think they've been handling Gordon a bit better (this week's review here) but I totally agree with everything else you're saying. Penguin started off as a great villain, ruthless, sneaky and intelligent. Recently he has been a bumbling baffoon. This episode does a little to remedy that but with only a few episodes left, it will be interesting to see how things play out to a satisfying end.

With Gordon being poised for a promotion, maybe his futile crusade will begin to bear fruit.

The show is off for 5 weeks?

This ep felt a bit fillerish and the stuff with Penguin and the old couple was just off. I do like what they are doing with Fish's arc though and The Dollmaker is suitably creepy.

Fish needs to be killed off. Her arc isn't connected to the rest of the story, and I don't see them easily pulling Fish back into the fold.

This is quite possibly one of the dumbest things I've ever encountered on the Hype and shows you know exactly nothing about addiction. Addiction has nothing to do with intelligence, quite the contrary most of the recent studies show that is people with above average intelligence that are more likely to become addicted. You may want to educate yourself on something before making blanket generalizations of which you have no knowledge of

What If Gotham Is Actually A Prequel To the 1960s Batman TV Series?

dpxwpk6oihdrgbldfl62.jpg

Watching Gotham continue its complete and utter lunacy in "Everyone Has a Cobblepot" last night, I was struck with a single, amazing thought. What if Gotham is an origin story not for regular Batman, but for the old Batman TV show from the '60s? Because the ridiculousness is reaching that level.

In fact, there are only two major differences between Gotham and Batman '66 that I can see. 1) Gotham has a lot more violence, which we can easily chock up to airing in 2015 instead of 1966, and 2) there's no alliteration-loving narrator (which, now that I've realized this, Gotham sorely needs).

Full article at the link but I thought that was funny and wanted to share it

That'd be interesting for sure, but it had me thinking...Why does it seem so hard for people to grasp that Gotham is following its own continuity?
