I hope Hulk has atleast one scene where he stands up straight :p.
Of course but how many people do you know that walk around straight all the time it's not normal.
He is just hunched over in an action pose.

I'm fine with ripped pants too!

Me too! Thats the way he should look according to me.
But then again I grew up with this guy :D

Yeah, I don't think a giant green guy could look anymore real than he does in that shot.

I've just watched the spot focusing on Thor, do you think we'll get a Hulk one or have they shown enough of him in all the other spots?

I think they've shown him enough, but I wouldn't mind a Hulk tv spot using most footage we've already seen with a few snippets of new footage.

So if they are doing individual TV Spots for each hero (which it looks like they are), I wonder what HULKs is going to be like? Other than epic of course.

I belive that it will be mostly reused footage, maybe some new Banner but thats it. They have exposed him enough allready, hes been on everyones lips since the SB trailer.

Agreed, he's easily the most anticipated character in this film bar none.

I've gotta say hulk looks a little bit cartoonish and fake in that shot
He will always look that way ... no matter how great the CGI gets. Just accepting a big green CGI man isn't going to work. You can do King Kong for example, because apes are real ... we can accept it. They have a pattern of movement, a believable feel to them. But the Hulk just always has a cartoon-ish element.

I think it's the coloring. Not only does it not make sense for the character, why does he need to be green? If Banner in the film turned into a giant, HULK of a man ... with normal skin tone, that make turns blood red (like real humans) the believability of there being a real Hulk IMO would work a lot better on screen.

I think that the still photos are what makes him look "cgi" in all of the footage Iv seen where he moves he has looked incredible.

He always looks CGI because we the audience know he's an entirely CGI creation.

There is no recognition of believability for the audience for a 9 - 11 foot tall man who can do crazy things, it has no inherent physics to his movements.

Thus he will always look cartoon-ish to some extents.

I've been trying to think of a better answer than 'Because Hulk is green.'

But that's really all that needs to be said.

Gamma rays are green if I´m not misstaken. Atleast in the comic world.

I agree but untill an huge green guy is born this is the closest we´ll get.
And I think it looks fantastic.

Which why that portion of the character very much needed to be re-invented or tweaked sometime ago ...

Small elements to all characters have been refined over time to make more sense, and become the basic finalized version we know them to be.

Hulk being grey or green has never made a lick of sense.

I strongly dissagree, if the Hulk was of normal skin colour he would be Juggernaut without his costume. This whole "green monster" thing is what´s made him so popular trough the ages.

I agree. Hulk being green is a fundamental part of who he is. It may be hard to translate to film but Hulk should be green. Unless he's Gray :yay:

I don't think Hulk would be much more realistic if he wasn't green because a humanoid wouldn't have those proportions in the first place.

And it's not like Hulk is the only non-realistic hero in this movie. There will be tons of non-realistic action, but it will look great for anyone that can suspend their belief.

Then again there's hardly any action movie that even portrays a brawl realistically.

Seriously? It adds to his monstrousness, if he wasn't green he'd just be 'giant strong man'. Anyway, it's comics, it doesn't have to make sense beyond 'Stan Lee thought it would be cool'

Probably because Stan wanted to evoke the idea of Frankenstein, which, surprise, was portrayed in green facepaint.

He wanted a monster, not a strong guy.

Frankenstein because he was sort of undead, makeup artists needed a way to show it on B&W, and they went with green. It stuck.

That was the kind of monsters Stan grew up with, hence, eventually becoming green when the gray color didn't work out.

And knowing Stan and how much people knew about radiation (not to mention Stan's proclivity towards alliteration) he saw gamma and thought "green"/"gray"

True story

Cth is right. Hulk has always been created to be the superhero version of the Universal Movie Monsters like Frankinstein and Dr. Jeckal and Mister Hyde. That's why Bruce Banner has always been protrayed as a bit of a mad scientist as well.

Nothing about the Hulk makes sense. There's no reason to start changing things about a character that's been around as long as he has to make them more realistic when they will never be realistic.

The small tweaks that have been made with the Hulk over time that have added to the character were about his psychology and explaining the existence of this raging beast that Banner had compartmentalized within his mind. That's what makes the character more relatable and believable if not realistic.

I for one never want to see a flesh colored Hulk. He's not supposed to be a big dude. He's a monster.
