Wow your one of the first to speak of TIH that way I thought I was one of the only ones who felt that way.I remeber speaking on it and it seems most people swear by it.
I just couldn't get past his rubbery look and video game chi rendition.
I agree wholeheartedly the only problem I saw with the 03 version was the storytelling.
Plus the fact that he was 15 feet tall but there are still some scenes where the cg is amazing especially for its time.
I must say I do agree with the origin being a flashback but I feel they should do it in this movie.Fury can give a rundown on each hero and play a new Origin and we are done.I know they have to use the super soldier origin but make it that in combinition with a Gamma bomb and the serum kept him alive.Like in Hulk the Gamma was killing him but the nano boys kept him alive that's was why he became the hulk except here substitute the nano with the serum.

I think the important parts in TIH, were the ones that tied Banner to the Super Soldier program. They went with the Ultimates Hulk origin to an extent, where his transformation was in part triggered by the bastardized version of Erskine's serum he injected, not knowing what it truly was. I still would have rather had the Gamma bomb origin.

I'm sure they have their own little reasoning why.

Suck that they hastly green lit every major Avenger characters solo movie sequel, except Hulks. Hulk is Marvels tentpole character after Spidey, after all.:csad:

Don't forget about Wolverine, he was the star of 3 X-Men films, 1 solo film, and a tv show (Wolverine & The X-Men).

Plus I think Iron Man has caught of with both of them. :im:

HULK sad! :(

HULK want be star. HULK want movie!!!!

I guess to be fair, Hulk has already had two movies and has a new cartoon on Disney XD coming soon. They wanna give the rest of the gang a shot I assume.

I think a live action hulk tv show, with a convincing cgi hulk, would be very very expensive to produce. Maybe Im wrong.

I personally believe Hulk works best when in the midst of the other Avengers. I haven't seen the film, but theoretically, I can see how a huge, unstoppable killing machine contrasts well with the other heroes. But when the character holds a motion picture of his own, his transformation from man to beast is much less powerful since he is forced to transform many times throughout the film in order to hold the attention of audiences. Of course, multiple transformations in a film like The Avengers is much less needed since you have many other characters to focus your attention on. Therefore, when the Hulk does go through his transformation, he steals the show completely.

Very good point

I've been waiting for a Thor animated series for while so I guess Hulk fans can rejoice about that.:bh:

Well, based on that other recent Feige interview, I think that's the studio's perspective at this point: the character makes a big splash as part of an ensemble but has a hard time carrying a movie on his own.

So, it wouldn't surprise me if they just made Hulk a big part of the draw for the next Avengers movie, rather than a solo film, at least for now.

It's great that He wants to do it!:word:

I love it when someone is enthusiastic about their art and playing a particular character. Usually good results result.

What I want is to corner the market on every front possible. :woot:

No more Hulk movies? Hmmm well then they should shut down production on the TV series, I can only seeing that tarnishing the popularity Hulk has won from this movie.

Well, in a recent interview with Jeph Loeb (marvel animation's exec. producer), he said they have five animated series in different stages of production!
I honest believe Thor will have his series soon.:word:

But then, by this reasoning Iron Man's already had 2 movies (making Avengers his third appearance as well) and an anime show. So, I don't know if that logic holds.

I do, however, understand if they just don't feel like they've cracked an approach to a feature-length solo film that'd allow Hulk to shine as much as he does here, and in that regard I totally agree that they ought to take their time with it. Ruffalo will only grow into his look of Banner as he gets older, and he's definitely down when the time comes, so no worries there.

Kind of bummed by that but hopefully whenever they do decide to bring him back, they stick with Ruffalo. He seems to have really nailed the character and I loved seeing how giddy he was upon seeing a model of Hulk in the b-rolls.

This is the single worst mistake this studio has ever made. (And they've made quite a few--not saying the films aren't brilliant, I'm talking business.) To completely discredit one of your biggest characters, who, apparently, makes one of your biggest movies more enjoyable than the rest of the cast, and who has an overwhelmingly positive feedback from the crowds... is just plain foolishness from a business perspective. It's like Hasbro looking at TF3's box office gross and going "Four? Really? Do we need four films? That might just destroy artistic integrity. We should go more with Battleship, inflate that into a trilogy. Transformers had their time."

I'm not saying they have to make a sequel, I'm saying they've dismissed it without even a passing thought. This is in order to make sequels to other mainstream franchises (which is smart) but also to make room for Black Widow? Iron Fist? Dr. Strange? Nick Fury? These are all good characters who, wouldn't necessarily have bad films, but, their initial draw is no where near the Green Goliath.

None of that adds up at all. His movies didn't outright fail and the second one was gimped in terms of marketing while being placed next to some extremely strong competition. So here's your second chance to bring Jade Jaws to the forefront, to complete the trilogy you've already announced, teased, set up, and followed up with in Avengers and you dump it for some of the worst possible candidates to hold their own solo films? This is assuming of course, that Hulk is as well received once the movie releases.

Marvel, I love ya baby, but sometimes, you and I, we just need to see other people. You go ahead and do your little projects, play with your little experimental C-grade characters, and you know, gimme a ring when you finally green light Hulk 2 without Ruffalo 10 years down the road, rebooting it a second time and completely trashing his chances again. I'll be there.

Losing Ruffalo and all this goodwill would be such a waste. I want to still remain optimistic that they'll ride that wave and don't let it pass over.

Hulk is one of the best Marvel characters out there and one of my favorites. Not using him after something like this does seem like a waste. Still hoping that the other 2014 movie is Hulk as unlikely as that may seem.

Although I won't be so disappointed if he is the main presence again in The Avengers 2 but who knows when that's going to happen. :(

Yeah, he's one of my favorites as well, but I'm more irked by the freshman studios' constant belligerence. I've defended them in the past but almost letting SLJ slip, undercutting actors, recasts galore, and then letting their audience's will slip by just because they are unwilling to take a smart financial risk is just... appalling.

Honestly, so far they have made nothing but greatness in my eyes, but their business tactics are so... misguided. Letting Ruffalo away from this role will be a horrendous mistake, I can feel it.

Unless of course they coax him onto TV with the same Hulk CG model. But that'd cost far more than they have.

That's far from a smart financial risk. hulk may have worked very well in this group movie, but he hasn't proved he can carry a solo movie at all.
And he already had two chances, with no success.

Basically if either of those Hulk flicks made Iron Man money, he'd be on the fast track. They don't want to risk a third loss or critical fail.
