ruffalo's revelation at the end.

want to know my secret?

... one of the best scenes. and it led to the circle shot after,
and with masterful scoring,
i felt goosebumps. one of THE moments for me in the film.

Totally agreed, it was just beautifully shot and almost serene. I freakin' loved Ruffalo in this flick. Also his little moments of awkwardness and jokes really made me love this interpretation of Banner more than the others.

i like that one part where they just land on the hellicarrier. He looks around, but some pilots pass by and he awkwardly gets out of their way.

Totally one of my favorite little moments. :)

Oh and, does anyone know what Hulk's only line was? My theatre was laughing so hard at what just happened, that we all missed it. Awesome crowd though. :woot: :woot:

Hulk was beyond perfect in this movie. I loved every second of it.

Don't try and lynch mob me if you don't like this but something just occurred to me... Most of us like Hulk's portrayal in A:EMH, so how about having Chris Yost direct his next solo film? With Whedon producing.

^ I don't know about that, but I am a bit fan of EMH's Hulk.

yeah hulks portrayal in EMH is based off of the hulk from a number of different comics. it'd be better to have greg pak, or peter david as a consultant or co-writer of a script. I prefer a bigger director that can handle action, story, character development and emotion properly.

I hear the "get a comic book writer to do the script" thing all the time and I can never see it working. Closest thing would be having Peter David as a consultant like how Bendis, and Millar are with Iron Man and The Avengers, though I don't see him really wanting to do it.

I feel like the main reason Ruffalo is getting all the high praise here because both he and Hulk were given better material to work with than either of the previous films. But as for what he himself brought to the role? I didn't see anything particularly smashworthy; it wasn't bad, it wasn't phenomenal, just meh.... I wasn't too fond of the, almost Clark Kent-like timidity in his Bruce. The previous ones were unassuming and mild-mannered, but not at all "timid", but I understand its value as a juxtaposition against the way everyone was walking on eggshells around him all because of "The other guy".

The whole theater laughed [blackout]as Hulk beat the living crap out of Loki and then you saw his reaction to Hulk tearing him apart like a ragdoll.[/blackout]

I loved his reveleation. Perhaps the best moment in the movie. Wonderfully acted. The rest of the movie, I found him just serviceable. I think he has a nice dry humor that suits the way this Banner is written, but he doesn't really remind me all that much of classic Bruce Banner, or even Ultimate Bruce Banner. He just kind of did his own thing, and was Mark Ruffalo for much of the movie. He gave a solid performance, but I don't think this role demanded as much as Norton's and Bana's did.

Is there a precedent for that revelatory moment in the comics? I know he's been able to do what he did there, but is there a moment like that in Avengers or Hulk lore?

I'm not usually a fan of recasting, but, in this case, it is completely justified because Ruffalo plays the PERFECT Bruce Banner/Hulk, and is hands-down better in the role than Edward Norton (and this is coming from someone who's way more familiar with Norton than he is with Ruffalo).

I avoided this thread like the plague and I'm glad I did. I was not spoiled by anything. Hulk was so freaking awesome in this film.

His stuff with Loki = AWESOMENESS :D

Sorry buddy but I've got a noose for ya. :cwink:
I hate the way he down plays Cap's abilities and plays up Hawkeye.

On another note. Ruffalo, what can I say. The guy literally is a beast. His portrayal of Banner is lovely in every way. I need more Ruffalo/Banner in my life.

Quite true, but then again, was Tony Stark in the comics really ever like he's been portrayed in the movies by Downey Jr.? Sure he's charming and a playboy, but he's not really a *****e, not in the same way anyway, and everyone seems to think Downey plays the perfect Stark, myself included. I think Ruffalos portrayal is perfect for this movie and universe.

I just got back from seeing it in IMAX 3D! I don't know if its been mentioned, but i noticed one of the references to TIH.
When they show the repeating clip of hulk picking up the humvee on the monitor, it looked like the back of the avengers hulk not the TIH. Also it had Ruffalo's face as banner obviously, i know people were wondering?
Obviously the other was his comments about the bronx.

it was the same TIH footage, I noticed the longer hair.but they did dub it with ruffalo's hulk roar...

From what I saw the hulk in that little clip didn't look like TIH footage, hulk looked way too bulked and the hair looked like Ruffalo's hulk. To me at least the vehicle didnt even look the same, maybe it was just the Imax 3d i saw it in, but IMO thats how it looked

Now this was f'n Bruce Banner&Hulk,I'm so happy:hrt:!!
