Magic negates laws of physics. The end. No matter how strong he gets, Hulk shouldn't be able to move it for a millimeter. As for other heroes picking it up, it would be cool if there's a moment in the sequel, where Thor drops his hammer and it lands near Cap, and he just casually picks it up and tosses it back to him. Of course he wouldn't know about the enchantment and Thor would just give him a quick look. Then the battle continues normally.

Musty002 you saying that if hulk had more time he would have lifted it or he did but it was offscreen

The hammer didn't budge. The scene happened very quickly but it was clear that the Hulk simply wasn't going to lift it.

I saw this movie last night, and I can tell you the Hulk was the highlight of the movie. Every scene he's in, he's stealing the show. Everybody was talking about him when I left the theater.

I'm not saying this to detract anything from the character, but maybe Hulk stole the show because that was their intention.

Think about it...

hehe hulk's definatly become my favourite character thanks to this movie, and all my GA friends either said he was their favourite or was tied with ironman for No. 1

I just wish Hulk was an actual character, and not an overgrown angry gorilla that was taught 2 words somehow. Maybe in Avengers 2 will he get a chance to get more development.

Even though I'm not the greatest fan of him, he was great entertainment...

THe scene where he
punched THOR
literally had the audience ( and me) laughint out .

ALso his fight with Loki was epic....at least if you wanna call that a fight :lmao:

After his run in with Loki, I loved his little pimp walk. He actually starts strutting.

Anti Goku

He was trying to lift it but 2/3 seconds later Thor interrupted him by barging into him so didn't have enought time to lift or maybe he couldn't. Good thing Whedon it unexplanied.

matrix_ghost That was LOL classic
Might as well add another (which is even better given that it is in an emotional and critical time )

iron man was in a lying in the ground (with his amour mask open)in a critical condition and not responding captain america and thor was fearing the worst or maybe even dead!!! but HULK has other ideas and let out an almight roar( and by the way all of his screams was miles better than the previous hulks) and TONY WAKES UP IN A HAILRIOUS WAY and said "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT!!! [lol] [lol] and whole audience went from dead silence to the biggest LOL I ever heard in a packed cinema and then hulk does a king kong (pounds his own chest) like he saved iron man life. I loved that moment because not only banner sees tony as a friend but hulk as well .

Dialogue doesn't equate to character. Several little things in in the film, expressions and the such, establish his character.

I think he was handled just about perfectly.

Magic has limitation and rules all of its own. If a physical force exceed the energy source of the Mystical enchantment then the physical force wins.

If you think of magic as just another source of energy begin used in a different manner. Kind of like how Ki, Chi, and Chakara works in DBZ and Naruto. The Amount of energy behind the magic dictates its power.

Everyone In my theather LOVED Hulk and he was the big talk after the movie.
Let me tell you one thing, I´v never and I mean NEVER heard anyone clap in sweden during or after a movie, but Hulk managed to get them ****ers clapping and laughing :D:D

Glad you enjoyed it. Imo, there wasn't enough. I should be more specific; I want him to be more of a person-character than ape-like (which also show personality, expressions)...

Except for 2 words, you could never assume he has any human intelligence whatsoever.

Again, pretty sure they can/will/should expand on this in Avengers 2.

And ignoring my Thor fanboism, having Hulk lift Mjolnir is a massive nono. Taking that aspect away from Thor myth is like having Hulk reach an anger/strength limit...

I personally think that there going to try to develop him as a character in the Solo movie. I'm not pissed that he's not talking. I'm a little disappointed but i can deal. It seems like from what I hear that this Hulk behaves more like the Hulk from the comics :yay: only minus the talk :csad:.

I'm not bothered about him barely talking. I like the idea that he's basically rage personified, and if you've ever been insanely angry you'll know how difficult talking can be.

That said, he CAN talk. He just doesn't say that much, which makes sense. How much would he have to say really? The fact that we know he can talk shows that he has some level of intelligence.

Even without dialogue
Hulk smiling after being told to 'Smash' is full of character, but it's a tiny little thing.

He definitly does behave like comic Hulk, only problem I had with it was that in some instances he moved gorilla:ish, but that´s just a drop in the ocean

See, I like that as long as its not overdone. It makes sense with the character to have some beast like aspects.

Oh no, long from overdone, he was damn near perfect

Thats what i'm hearing. I'm also pumped that Feige is actually now considering a Hulk sequel with Ruffallo now. He's went from "no" to "were discussing it" because of the positive buzz.

Lets cross our fingers. Ruffallo and Whedon are fighting for it.

I'm a HUGE Hulk fan...and I thought that not only did Ruffalo do an INSANELY GREAT Banner, but the Hulk was SPOT ON. I honestly don't have one complaint other than he didn't speak enough.

Has anyone seen that animated piece on YouTube with Spiderman, Iron Man and Hulk? I think Whedon did...because
he obviously co-opted the falling Iron-Man with Hulk catching him from that short. I REALLY WISH he'd have used the line Hulk had in that to give Hulk one more line. Something along the lines of "Thor said Iron Man in trouble...so...HULK HELP!

I agree that the Hulk shouldn't have been able to pick up the hammer...yet. Whomever said "save that for down the line" has it right. He's done it more than once in the comics, but I'm not sure he's "worthy" yet.

I hope to StanLee that we get a Hulk movie with this Hulk. The CGI was PERFECT. The movement..the action...it was all so @#$@#$@#ing perfect.

I thought it was very clear. Hulk used all his strength to try to lift it but the hammer didn't budge and the floor started to give. Had he continued the floor would have continued to give. Lifting Mjolnir should never be a feat of strength. Hulks strength isn't more powerful than Odin's might and it doesn't need to be in order for Hulk to be awesome.
