It's just about covering their bases...just because you sign someone to a multiple film deal doesn't mean you have to exercise it.

It's not that they have plans for a Hulk film, simply that if they decide to do one, they got Ruffalo locked down.

Wouldn't want to risk losing him and casting a FOURTH actor to play Banner.

That's a cool little look at the FX. Makes me super excited to dig through the special features on the blu ray.

The Incredible Hulk's CGI was mediocre even at the time of the film's release four years ago, but after seeing The Avengers, it looks so much worse.

Yeah, i've been watching TIH quite a bit last few weeks and i would go as far as to say the F/X are cringe-worthy.

But i thought that even when the film came out, especially the campus scene and when he's inter-acting with a live person. It's as if the F/X team didn't even try to make him photo-realistic.

The only cg of him that looked like any kind of effort was put in, was the cave in the rain scene.

Cool video. It looks like for the fight with Thor, they used an animatronic Hulk in a few places.

That's why if you're going to have one of the main characters in your movie rendered entirely in CGI, you'd better be willing to shell out the money for the effects. Could you imagine how awful it would have been if Gollum looked fake? Or King Kong? Caesar from Rise of the Apes?

When I can't believe in the physical reality of the character, I cannot make a connection with them and it takes me out of the experience. IF Marvel makes a new solo Hulk film, they had better get ILM back. After what they did with The Avengers, people won't settle for anything less.

Yeah, it's sad but i honestly don't think they put alot of effort into making it. I get the vibe now that the only reason TIH was made, was so they could have him in The Avengers. His solo films were an after-thought, as is noted by the rest of the main Avengers already having sequels to their solo projects already in the works, and Hulks is still up in the air.IM1 and TIH were released the same year, and IM3 is already in the works.:csad:

^^^^This. For me, watching the final battle is like watching a video game being played. This and the fact I never for once bought Liv Tyler as a scientist. Sunday school teacher or librarian? Sure. Otherwise, I agree that TIH is an underappreciated movie. I definitely agree that some of the cut scenes (Banner's breakdown at the dinner table; Banner & Sampson's fireside chat; possibly the suicide attempt) should've been included in the final cut.

The suicide scene was great, and it should have been the opening scene of the film. Why they cut it is truly beyond me.

And this is coming from someone who didn't like TIH.

I think they thought it would be a bit much for the younger audience. I'm sort of on the fence about that scene, but the others I mentioned definitely would've enhanced the movie and the narrative.

I didn't care much for that scene to be honest. I like the idea of it but the execution seemed lackadaisical.

Too me it just didn't seem dramatic enough.

That being said, i don't think this scene counts as part of the Marvel movie-verse continuity, nor was it the sucide attempt Banner refers to in Avengers, as some believe.

In TIH he doesn't stick the gun in his mouth, he simple cocks back the hammer, looks down and his hand has Hulked-out. Not to mention Cap being in that scene in the ice, whereas in Cap he's frozen in a plane...so it doesn't count.

Did they ever explain thunderbolt ross' absence? it seemed like they recruited him in TIH.

Black-Widow says that Shield has kept Ross and the military off Banners scent for the last year. So i assume Ross was ordered by Shield to stand down.

Which is what TIH's post-credits scene should have been.

And in hindsight, I do agree with you guys that the suicide scene could have been a lot better. Perhaps I'm more in love with the idea than the execution. But in a movie that was pretty lacking in substance and depth, I really enjoyed the scene.

Exactly what I feel and think of the entire situation.

Black Widow tells Banner how they've kept some "interested parties" from finding him.

As for recruiting Ross that was sort of retconned through The Consultant where they basically say that Tony acted as a "patsy" to sabotage the meeting between them two so Ross wouldn't release Blonksy to SHIELD as the World Security Council wanted. I guess Fury knew that was a bad idea and preferred Blonsky to stay in a fortified prison.

Just want to complement everyone on their tact and willingness to consider other peoples opinions. Trust me, its not always like this. Spend some time on a Batman/Nolan board to see what I mean.

Has anyone read/heard any more news on a potential ongoing series? Looks like the focus is back on a feature film thanks to all the love for Ruffahulk.

It would be cool if TIH2 starts off right where Avengers left off, with the opening scene being Banner and Stark in Starks car. Maybe have some dialogue between the two, then show Tony dropping Banner off at the bus station, or something....

In Norton's first draft of the TIH script, Banner does actually put the gun in his mouth and pull the trigger with Hulk then spitting the bullet out as Ruffalo's Banner described in The Avengers.

Now this is only a guess but I think the scene was rewritten to Banner simply holding the gun and an attempted suicide being implied rather than shown to get a PG-13 rating. Showing an actual suicide is completely different to merely describing one.

Gale Ann Hurd (TIH producer) said that the scene wasn't in the final cut of the film because the CGI in the scene wasn't finished in time so they cut it out and finished it up for the DVD release.

So Norton came up with the whole schpiel about the gun and the hulk spitting the bullet out?

If that's what Mark had to wear for his scenes alongside the Avengers, props to the cast even more for keeping their faces on game since I would have had a hard time not laughing from seeing him in that suit.lol

Was Ruffalo on the set during the filming in New York City? Since he was the Hulk, I figured he would be there. But I never saw pictures of him or anything.

If they were to make another Hulk movie, i think for it to be successful Joss would have to direct it.....i cant think of anyone else who could tackle it and make it work.....with TA making so much money ( Hulk being the talk of the movie) i would be surprised that they wouldn't even try....marvel ceo/executives loves the monies and all..
