Way too many people find out Spidey's identity in both films.

Pretty sure #ChurchofTobez revealed his face to an entire train. And that Norman Osborn guy new, and so did harry, and dock ock, and sandman, and that guy that died that time, and MJ.

Seriously spidey keep the mask on.

Lol how true while in asm2 at least elector and rhino didn't find out.

Rhino was such a non entity in that movie that he wasn't significant enough. But give it time. The entire Sinister Six will probably know.

Anyway all you guys shouldn't be discussing the TASM movies in here. Lets not have that start in here of all places. This is a fan thread for Raimi.

This is NOT a Raimi vs Webb thread. This is a Raimi thread. Don't make this a Webb vs Raimi debate thread again. Period.

I think we really need a compare thread like that. It gets brought up and it doesn't really brother me to hear it any way. Can we get a thread for that?

In time, maybe. Right now, you guys haven't shown the ability to do so without resorting to insults. But, whenever that day comes, THIS thread won't be it. So, Webb vs Raimi is a dead topic in here.

Got you any way back to rami's spider man. What is ever ones top 5 scences for eatch of the rami spider man movies?

Dad reminded me of something about Toby Spidey that I forgot!

He's very soft/sweet hearted! You never see him say a bad word to anyone other than when he's black suited out, he's innocent, bumbly, makes mistakes!

Quite lovable character traits really.

He also mentioned how cool sandman was, gotta agree with that! Especially at the time, it felt like I was in a sandpit or something..

I know this may sound weird, but even though I believe Andrew is the far superior Spider-Man and Peter Parker, show me a picture of him and I’ll just think “Andrew Garfield”… show me Tobey Maguire and I’ll be like “SPIDER-MAN!”
The Raimi movies are the definitive Spider-Man for most people, and they brought superhero movies to whole new level and when people hate against them, I think they should consider that without them, we wouldn't have most of the superhero movies we have today.

We owe you so much, Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire.

I have to wonder what the world of CBMs would be like if we had gotten this:

We'll never know. :csad:

"Maybe you're not supposed to be Spider-Man climbing those walls. That's why you keep falling. You always have a choice, Peter."

"I have a choice..."

Im surprised that SM3 wasn't even nominated for best visual effects, Sandman still looks impressive.

Well, TASM1/TASM2 wouldn't exist, and not to mention that 2011 would have been even MORE awesome for CBM...despite the fact that GL was one of the most average comic book movies in the past 5 years.

While Spidey might not have been the first modern super hero hit on the silver screen, the Spidey franchise did elevate the genre to its current state in many ways. Blade and X-men were as grim and as grounded as movies about vampires and mutants could have possibly been. Spidey proved that there were plenty of people willing to buy tickets to see a jolly hero in a visually bright universe. The Avengers and GotG probably wouldn't have happened without the Spidey template.

"Misery, misery, misery, that's what you've chosen. I offered you friendship....and you spat in my face"

Riami's movies never lost sight of the importance of Uncle Ben on Peter's life.

Agreed- even when concerning Spider-Man 3, despite the ret-conning with Sandman. Uncle Ben's death had huge weight throughout Raimi's trilogy.

I gotta say, I really missed Cliff Robertson in Spider-Man 1 when he died. Of course as a Spidey fan, I knew it was coming ... But Cliff Robertson brought so much class and warmth to the character. He was so great. I was genuinely sad when he was killed (which means the movie was effective, I suppose!).

I really loved cliff Robertson's portrayal as ben. It really felt like he has a huge impact on peters line and while I had a huge problem with how he handles the line cliff Robertson saves it with his portrayal

I'd even take it one step farther and say the Raimi trilogy never lost sight of Peter himself. Most types of these films get lost in special effects and action, esp. in sequels. That's one of the reasons I love Spider-man 3(flaws and all). It had heart and always knew that Peter and his journey is what drives these films.

Spider Man 3 wasn't even that bad!

Listening to the SM2 soundtrack on spotify right now.

Goosebumps
