Thought Holland was great as Spidey in CW, can't wait to see more from him.

I just watched MovieBob's review of the first two films and it reminded me of how much I love those films.

Here's some official artwork for what would have been Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 4 made by Jeffrey Henderson.

It would’ve been one absolutely kick ass movie. Seriously. We were working on some crazy- cool stuff, because everyone, from top to bottom, felt that Spidey 3 was a bit of a 'missed opportunity’, and we all really wanted to help Sam take SM4 to another level so he could end the series on a high note.

Huh

Thats interesting. I always like seeing the things that could have been

It is sad we never got the 4th film, I was looking forward to it.

I'm more sad than ever we never got this movie. You know Campbell as Mysterio would have been gold, and that Vulture fight scene would have been amazing, you can tell that just from the concept art.

Also further proves those "Vulturess" rumors were false. All those pictures and no Black Cat in sight. Only Vulture and Mysterio.

It's been so long since I've watched the trilogy. One weekend soon I need to do a little marathon.

Yeah same here. I might do one this weekend.

Some more info...

Spider-Man 4 Storyboards Reveal Iconic Villains and Huge Action That Never Was

We reached out to Henderson to ask about the boards and he explained that the idea was floated of Mysterio being Bruce Campbell’s cameo. It would’ve been part of a beginning of the film montage featuring “a montage of C and D- list villains that we knew would never be used as main antagonists: Mysterio, the Shocker, the Prowler, the old school-onesie-wearing version of the Rhino, maybe even the Stilt Man, etc.”

As for Vulture, he would’ve been the main villain and apparently Raimi had some really new and exciting ideas for the character. “The thing we kept coming back to was that, as a character, everyone was going to dismiss the Vulture as just an old guy in a silly green suit,” Henderson said. “So we wanted to go the opposite way and really make him the most fearsome and formidable adversary that Spider-Man had faced in the series.”

Yeah, this is pretty exciting stuff. We don't know everything that would have happened given we only see a few storyboards, but you can see that great distinctive Raimi action and iconography. Just the image of the helicopter shooting up at the Vulture going up on a building or Peter falling out of the sky are all memorable images and better than anything the ASM films had.

We still know Raimi couldn't get the story to a satisfying place in the time frame that he had, so I can't say with confidence we would have gotten a great, redeeming movie, but you can tell where they were their hearts were in the right place. It's good when everyone acknowledges SM3's disappointing qualities and takes it to heart to strive to make a better movie. The fact that was on their minds was something that could have driven this film to greatness.

I would just love to know what Raimi's full intentioned SM4 would have been. No Sony intervention, no goddamn Avi Arad, just his vision and what he wanted, which I am confident would have been great.

The story could be fun, and probably much better without the inclusion of MJ getting abducted by the villain once more.
Wonder how the game adaption (assuming the duty of making the game remained with Treyacrh) would've handled Mysterio and Vulture in their story.

I'd love it if they adapted what they had into some sort of comic miniseries or just straight up graphic novel.

Posted it in the lounge, too.

Damn, I'm confident Spider-Man 4 had Sam Raimi had his way would've 110% made up for what Sony did to Spider-Man 3. Such a shame we're never ever gonna see it.

Spider-Man 4 could of had Carnage, Vulture and Mysterio, since they never wrapped up that plot hole of what happened to the symbiote sample that Spidey gave to Doc. Connors in Spider-Man 3

Raimi wouldn't have touched Carnage.

Raimi wouldn't have touched Carnage.

Nope. And it would have been too clustered again with 3 villains.

Carnage also wouldn't have mixed well Mysterio and Vulture.

Also, Joker. Do you hate Carnage as much as you hate Venom ? :D

I like Carnage less than I like Venom.

No worries, appreciate all responses :)

No, because Carnage's motive at least makes sense, and he isn't hailed as one of the best Spidey villains even though he has an awful motivation and characterization.

I love the idea of starting the movie off with Spidey taking down miscellaneous villains, such as Shocker. That was how I always felt he should be introduced into a film. Not as a main villain, but just part of a cool action sequence to open the movie.
