Spider-Man The Official "I Loved Raimi's Spider-Man' Thread - Part 1 of 99 Luft - - - - Part 13

Those covers look really good. I wish they would make full comics like that.

She and Tobey have aged so well. I mean, if Sony decided to do a proper SM-4 with both them and Raimi returning after NWH -- they wouldn't have to do a massive time jump or whatever.
If they make a new deal with Marvel it should include that they could make Spider-Man 4.

I don't think Sony is obligated to make a Raimi SM-4 with Kevin Feige's full involvement. They could theoretically make it without Marvel Studios' involvement, but I think Raimi would probably want Feige involved to mitigate any studio interference.

The Spider-Man deal is just for Tom Holland's Spidey, but that extensive second window deal Sony inked with Disney says they're not splitting after NWH.

I thought Sony couldn't make other live-action Spider-Man movies at the same time.

If there's a clause in that deal for that (and if Tobey's NWH return really excites moviegoers), Sony is going to do everything they can to get to a Raimi and Maguire SM-4. If they have to let Disney co-finance it, they'll do it.

Spider-Man Trilogy is getting another Blu Ray release on 12/14 which is the same day Venom 2 comes out on Blu Ray and 3 days before No Way Home

Spider-Man 3 was on tv the other day. I still love the team-up with Harry at the end. It was cool to see such a team-up in a pre MCU world.

she was super hot as mj, hopefully with the success of a new way home sony will greenlight spider man 4.

What if Gough and Millar had at least done the story for Spider-Man 3?

I remember how hyped I was when the first Spider-Man was announced and how I loved the movie when I saw it, it had something special, the atmosphere, the execution of things, I mean you could tell that the director behind this movie was a Spidey fan!

As the years passed and having seen the movies with Garfield & Holland (which btw, did nothing for me), I wanted to see if my passion for Spider-Man is still alive and if the first two Spider movies by Raimi kept their magic for me after all these years and man, was I surprised? Because YES, they have! I am happy to say that I still love Spider-Man 1 & 2 just as much as I used to, for me, theese two movies have aged like fine wine! ;)

Loved that they had Tobey sense him first too with the Raimi spider-sense sound effect.

I truly hope not. I don't see the point.

A true Raimi cut of Spider-Man 3 would mean removing Venom/Symbiote completely. It's never happening. I truly hate what Zack Snyder/ZSJL has done to fandom.
Once again somebody doesn't know what they're talking about smh.

We've been asking for an Alternate/Extended Cut of Spider-Man 3 since the movie came out. Sony released an Editor's Cut back in 2017 on the 10 Year Anniversary of Spider-Man 3 (and Spider-Man 2.1) and leading up to Homecoming's release. It was a disappointment because it was barely any different from the Theatrical Cut (basically just an earlier version of it), it was shorter, it barely had any deleted scenes, and it was just thrown together at the last minute by the Editor. The Editor's Cut being disappointing, more people finding out about the deleted scenes, Tobey's return, Spider-Man 1 and 3 turning 20 and 15 Years Old is why more people have been asking for it as of late. Has nothing to do with Snyder besides the Hashtag.

Also Sony has been ****ing the fans over for YEARS regarding deleted scenes when it comes to the Spider-Man movies. TASM2 is another movie where fans want to see a longer cut and they were originally going to leave out the Deleted Scenes for No Way Home they were forced to include them due to the early pressings of Physical Copies leaking out on eBay.

After how much money No Way Home made and those anniversaries coming up, it's the perfect opportunity to milk more content regarding Tobey. A 3 Hour Alternate Cut Spider-Man 3 with the original ending and the deleted scenes regarding Harry, Eddie, Sandman, Gwen, Captain Stacy is perfect.

EDIT (4/27/22): No Way Home doesn't have any Deleted Scenes AT ALL on the Blu-Ray and 4K

Sam Raimi has no interest in releasing a Director's Cut. He doesn't even like Venom or the symbiote and never wanted to include them. His original treatment for Spider-Man 3 did not include Venom , Eddie Brock, Symbiote at all.

There isn't some magical extended or TRUE cut of Spider-Man 3 that will give you the perfect vision you want.

Yet they still released an Editor's Cut which Raimi had nothing to do with. All we want is the original 3 Hour Cut of the movie that is more faithful to the novelization which btw IS the version of SM3 I want to see (and yes they filmed those scenes). It doesn't have to be a Director's Cut. 2.1 wasn’t a Director’s Cut. (call it Spider-Man 3.1 or something)

It's not happening. And it's never going to happen. Just because some of those scenes exist and were likely shot doesn't mean they are in a finished state or would still properly and cohesively fit into the film. Chances are none of them are in a finished and usable state.

Also, if Raimi has no interest in releasing an alternate cut, the man who directed the film, then I have even less interest in seeing it. Seems like he's moved on.

It's your time. You can bang the drum as loud as you want.

Raimi is never going to do a Director's Cut of Spider-Man 3. I don't agree that just because Venom is in it that a Director's Cut cannot be made because Raimi still shot all the footage, so doing his version of what he shot is possible. He just doesn't want to do it. I think that situation is not unlike Lynch's Dune. He never will do a Director's Cut, but they did an Extended Cut that was close to 3hrs and is on DVD (but not Blu Ray) for that movie. I think similarly, we can get an Extended Cut of Spider-Man 3 made that inserts the new footage and such. But I don't know how much studio interest is there is in doing it

Someone on here reached out to Bob Murawski (editor of the trilogy) awhile back and asked about him about it and he responded by essentially saying he doesn't think a directors cut will happen because he doesn't believe that Sam is interested and that whatever was cut was pretty much cut for a reason.

Now a longer cut does (or did) exist. The actor that played Penny's doctor said that the reason his character was cut was because Sam called him and told him the film was running over 3 hours long and had to be chopped down.

Now I'd love to see an extended version or at the least deleted scenes, but since the director himself doesn't seen interested I'm not too passionate about campaigning for it.
