Spider-Man The Official "I Loved Raimi's Spider-Man' Thread - Part 1 of 99 Luft - - - - Part 13

I rewatched them fairly recently, not gonna do this again so soon.

Stan and Steve are the reason this site exists, so hats off to these two legends.

Watched that cameo yesterday on YouTube. Very emotional.

"I guess one man can make a difference. 'Nuff said."

I watched 3.5 of the Scream movies recently, currently watching 4 for the first time, and I started wondering if Neve Campbell was considered for the role of Mary Jane Watson, cause she sure feels like she could have filled that role really well. And I think writing her more like comic book MJ and less of a damsel in distress would have made it an even more ideal choice.

Eh I can’t see Neve in that role. I never liked Dunst either. I always wanted Alicia Witt.

The Raimi suit has been added to Spider-man PS4.

We're three years away from celebrating the 20th anniversary of a cinematic Spider-Man movie, and to that I say :wow:

I can't wait to celebrate in a big sweet way somehow.

This June will also be 15 years since Spider-Man 2! I really want a re-release of these films in theaters.

If they do that in my country in 2022 I'll try my best to catch all three of them on the big screen.

I'll try to draw a tribute for SM2's 15th anniversary around when the time comes, I had fun doing one for the first movie on its 15th 2 years ago.

You know, I was just thinking, if the plan for MCU Spidey was to not do any of the villains from every movie before Civil War, as well as to avoid other things, such as Gwen, Harry, JJ, MJ, Uncle Ben, then they really should've brought Maguire back for the role.

Holland's Spidey had been fighting crime before meeting Stark, so why not? Plus you don't have to explain why certain characters ain't nowhere to be seen (Brock Norman Otto, etc.) instead of just straight up ignoring them altogether. I have no interest in a Spider-Man world with none of these characters, and that's my biggest issue with Homecoming it just didn't feel like the Spider-Man I know. I'm all for being different but losing his major supporting cast is a huge letdown. At least with Maguire in the MCU there would be enough reason to not do previous villains in the MCU, because they're all dead except for Sandman. Same applies to Ben and Harry, both dead. You'd still have JJ, May, and MJ as part of his supporting cast, and to me that would be better than a world where JJ doesn't exist or MJ gets replaced with a girl that shares her initials, but only if that was the plan anyway.

Speaking of which, the same could be done with Venom where you do a Spider-Man 3 spin-off instead of a movie with no connection to Spidey at all. I personally prefer Tom Hardy as Brock over Topher Grace, but I'd have no problem with Topher being brought back if for no other reason than the connection to Spider-Man.

Just like in the comics Spidey does his own thing in the MCU while you have Venom do his own thing in his movie. The biggest difference being that Venom would exist in the MCU without actually ever having to be in a MCU movie (similar to Daredevil and Punisher). Eventually they'd do Carnage (I like Woody) in a sequel, and if Sony still decided to remove Spider-Man from the MCU after two films then they can do a crossover movie where Spidey teams up with Venom (in a contrast to the comics where Venom reveals himself to be alive instead of Spidey) in order to put a stop to Carnage's killing spree.

Just my own two cents and what I'd rather have seen than what we got.
