Spider-Man The Official "I Loved Raimi's Spider-Man' Thread - Part 1 of 99 Luft - - - - Part 13

I should rewatch the trilogy soon again because it's still very close to my heart. In some ways I guess I feel similar about Raimi's trilogy that a lot of older people feel about the original Star Wars trilogy. I saw them in the cinema as a kid and they just blew me away and all these years later, especially with the comic book movie explosion, I still consider this to be the standout of the genre for me.

Even though people like to **** on Spider-Man 3, I like it. It's not as good as SM1 or SM2 but to me it's not the awful movie some people like to portrait it as. To return to my comparison to the Star Wars trilogy before, to me I feel similar about this that some feel about Return of the Jedi, yeah there's some things that drag it down, but it also has great stuff in it.

I wish people talked about the score in these movies more. The theme is just sooo good. Every time I watch one of these movies and the music starts and you hear the quiet opening before it starts building up, it never fails to get me pumped.

I did not expect Far From Home to come this close to crossing the $1 billion line.

That new HiTop Films video essay on Spider-Man 2 pretty succinctly sums up why SM2 is the best Spider-Man movie to me, and why it's also been my personal favorite movie as well. It struck me when I was younger and I relate to it more and more every time I revisit it. The movie taps directly into the core of what makes the character work and just tells a simple, focused, human story and makes me feel like despite it all the world has good in it and I can be good too. It's just a darn good movie at the end of the day with valuable themes.

I'd post it but sometimes we get in trouble posting videos with f-bombs in them here and sometimes we don't.

Also, very cool seeing the original SM1 teaser in HD finally. Now we can see easter eggs in the trailer like "Otto Octavius Sr."

Raimi's love of the character shines in spades in the movies. They're so very Stan Lee era Spider-Man. People constantly say these movies have not aged well, but I firmly disagree. Sure, the CG in SM1 particularly hasn't, but the story and characters are as well done today as they were then. Good movie is a good movie.

Yeah, I really don’t get this notion that they haven’t aged well, I watched the trilogy again recently and they mostly hold up really well. The first 2 are still classics for me.

What if the climax of Spider-Man 3 had had Spider-Man and Sandman team up against Venom or against Venom and the Second Green Goblin?

No, I think his birthday happened pretty late in the school year. Since Spider-Man 2 starts with his birthday and then later it's the second anniversary of Ben's death (which from the first film was shortly before the high school graduation).

Hey guys, I was watching some old early 2000s Raimi manip fan art videos and I found these goodies. Do you know who made these since it's obvious published like decades ago.

What is that? I can't find it. Is it just fanart?

Love the comic art. MJ's looks face kinda inspired by how Sal Buscema and now Ron Frenz draws her. I can't land on who drew Peter like this in comics, but the hair style reminds me of the MTV series.

Scorpion design looks cool, even though he wears the unnecessary goggles.
Better than the Ultimate design for the character they've been pushing in films recently, and even better than his Spider-Man 3 game design, which I admittedly like.

What if James Franco or Topher Grace had been Peter Parker starting with the first film?

Had to delete it because there's swearing, but Hightop just released his Spider-Man 3 video. Ofcourse it's wonderful, check it out.

I'm listening to Spider-Man 3 score again, and the fabulous Elfman theme still gives me chills, and Christopher Young's additions remain such a lovely ear candy.
