Batman Begins felt like Gotham city... a believable, Nolan version of Gotham City.

TDK/TDKR just had a generic city backdrop.

You can make a city feel real and stylized at the same time. David Fincher accomplished this perfect balance in Se7en. It had the hyper real atmosphere of Begins without feeling artificial, and it had the gritty texture of TDK/Rises without being "bland".

I didn't like how obviously Chicago Gotham was in TDK, and I didn't like how obviously NY Gotham was in TDKR. I was thinking "Batman, why are you in New York??"

I LOVED how TSSM did it personally with having it being Spidey's suit but black as seen in S-M 3, but the symbiote changes the look over time to the traditional look...and that carries over with Venom.

I can see visually what a character in an all black suit wouldn't work well on screen, but I was curious to see if they also didn't want to do it because creatively that look wouldn't have worked the same way that it did in the cartoon.

But I agree, I really liked how TSSM took aspects of the films and mixed them with the comics and their ideas.
