Oh no
Someone that no one even liked or cared about with no significant role dies in a mediocre movie *gasp*

NOT RATHA! OH THE HUMANITY! :(

Now, in film canon, technically yes and no he didn't. Since he died via a deleted scene, then it technically isn't canonical. Now, there won't be any reference to him in TASM2, because he did in that scene of lizard eating him in TASM1 that was offscreen / deleted.

Idk if you're being serious? TASM is almost two years old, and has been on dvd/bluray since November of 2012.

No,

That scene implied that there was, to a certain degree more to his origin than just being bitten by a Spider and his father creating the Spiders.

Though it doesn't necessarily mean Richard Parker tinkered with his son as many here thought.

Wtf I never said that wasn't the point of the scene? I said that Ratha died in that.

Saw the climax battle in Spider-Man 3 again recently, still a great climax battle

I've always liked how Jameson didn't rat out Peter when the Goblin threatened him.

Yes, I loved that too. Very much. The only moment I can remember when Jameson wasn't a mere comic relief and showed some integrity.

Talking about Jameson with integrity in Raimi movies is too much
Laugh at him

I always figured that too...but then I thought maybe he didn't rat him out because if he did, he may lose his only photographer who could get pics of Spider-Man?

I'd rather think it's cause he's good at heart
Dude paid for Parker's wedding, and his attorney fees in the 90s cartoon
I think he also paid the attorney fees in one comic or another

Did anyone miss Jameson christening the villains their names in SM-3? It became a kind of tradition;

"The Green Goblin, you like that? Made it up myself. These weirdos all got to have a name now"

"Doctor Octopus, new villain in town....'Doc Ock'"

Though technically Hoffman came up with Doctor Octopus, Jameson just stole the credit for it lol. Though he did come up with Doc Ock.

You're right about that. But I really do love Jameson in SM2.

"Food poisoning scare sweeps city! I'm a little nauseous, yeah!"

"Ms. Brant! Get me a violin!"

"Slander is spoken. In print, it's libel."

"You don't trust anybody, that's your problem."
"I trust my barber."

I think it was Matt Murdock defending Spider-Man in the 90s cartoon.

While J. Jonah Jameson is good at heart in the Raimi films, he doesn't really have the depth of the Jonah from the cartoon. In the cartoon Jonah hates Spider-Man because a masked hitman killed his wife.

In Spectacular Spider-Man Jonah specifically says he tarnishes Spidey to get better headlines (and Spidey stole his son's thunder once), and in Ultimate Spider-Crap, Spidey actually is a menace so Jonah is more or less justified in hating him.

In the Raimi filsm, he hates Spider-Man because... he just does. But I still love his character.

I would have loved to have seen Raimi do Mysterio, that's one villain I think he could have done well for sure!

Imagine Bruce Campbell actually turning out to be Quentin Beck in that series? He was taking up different professions to help his acting career and learning to disguise himself the whole time….

Oh, the things that could have been. :'(

Yes well I have a feeling that Avi Arad would not have agreed to put in Mysterio.

He seems to insist he is too expensive for a film. I do not hate him just dont like him or his ideas.

He seems to be trying to do with Webb what he did with Raimi and adding characters that were decided by him and Sony along time ago.

I mean was it not him that wanted to add Vulturess in SM4? Vulture okay with that but Vulturess? Need I say more.

Well with the Bruce Campbell scene in SM2 were he says "it helps maintain the illusion" that sure did make a few fanboys/gals out there think Mysterio was gonna be next. Or he was him. Did he voice Beck in Spider Man 2 game?

:woot:

"In fact a moron."

Can you at least justify that claim?
