How can giving Peter and Eddie an actual connection, and Eddie a valid reason to hate Peter make Venom worse?

Are you saying that Venom was better in SM3 than in the comics? There were a few nice added elements, but that doesn't make up for how Raimi butchered the character and the symbiote story as a whole.

Most definitely. I could buy why this Venom hated Peter and wanted him dead.

I'm not talking about the symbiote storyline. All the dancing and stuff was terrible. I'm talking about Eddie Brock and his motivation as Venom.

Venom became more interesting as a character over time. Even the best villains (Green Goblin, Doc Ock) were pretty darn generic upon their first appearances.

Venom's motivation was there in SM3, but he never referred to himself as "we" or "us" when talking, his voice was really off, and he was just… blah. He, like Sandman, was just another villain for Spider-Man to fight, that's it. The best incarnation of Venom IMO is from the 90s animated series.

I'll agree with that, Venom in the 90's TAS was awesome, really hope we get that version of him in a movie someday.

What Raimi did was okay, but he should have had more screen-time. Raimi did his best considering the character was forced on him at a very late stage.

lol so voice intonation and not using incorrect grammar counts against a character

lol

lol

I like Spectacular's Venom the best, he had a deeper connection to Peter.

True, but we don't judge a movie on how it could have been written better or what would have happened if it was given more time to produce, we judge it on what it is.

It's not incorrect, "we" refers to both Eddie and the Symbiote. Eddie using singular pronouns would be grammatically incorrect.

Oh I know, I've read Venom comics....however unfortunately. I just like giving Picard a hard time. :oldrazz:

You have to be kidding me. I hope you're not being serious, otherwise you clearly know very little about venom.

Oh, and it's hilarrrrious you say that, because I recall Venom not always using WE. Case in point :

Oh, your flattery is just overwhelming!

Yeah Venom didn't always do that.

It doesn't ruin the character if he doesn't say we or us.

Its become a signature part of Venom as a character as he became more interesting. Not using it is a waste.

So, no, "A Necessary Evil," no case in point. Go back to your troll cave.

A lot of signature traits of characters don't always make it. I mean Joker didn't have laughing gas and that didn't make the Dark Knight version suck. Bane had no Venom.

Your arguments are constantly being shot down and proven invalid and you rarely back yourself up and yet you call Evil here the troll.

Please, say something else that we can shoot down.

I guess Sam Raimi should have given the Green Goblin his "flying stick" since he didn't "always" use a glider. :o

Ok, so by that logic:

Bane had no SA accent & Venom
Tony Stark wasn't anywhere near as funny/cool in the comics, he was a massive bore
Rhino never looked like a transformer
Lizard never looked like a Mario character

Wow, what a waste of characters. :yay:

Back to teh troll cave

How have my arguments been proven invalid? He uses tactics such as, "well I'm a film major so I know what I'm talking about." Ha, that changes everything. :whatever:

Nah the glider is a big improvement. "We" is just a noun. Not that big of a deal.
Could it work? Yes. Was it NEEDED? No.

Well, Rhino doesn't look like a transformer in TASM2, first of all. And its okay to change the look of characters when necessary since the classic Rhino would never work on film.

Hey, look, you're the ones defending Sam Raimi's incarnation of Venom, so I just have to sit back and laugh a little bit. This guy down below knows what I'm talking about.

Is this supposed to make me feel embarrassed or ashamed of my opinion?

This pic is awesome to me. I love the tendrils going under his skin like veins. I love them pulling his eyebrow up. I love the sinister smile and the idea of his teeth being sharp and grotesque under the mask.

This is a great image.

It has a christmas-y vibe to it too lol. I wish Spider-Man 3 had taken place in the winter. :csad:

Well, no, he doesn't. Unless everything mechanical looks like a transformer to you? The USM version of Rhino is a hell of a lot better than the 616 incarnation IMO, so I'm glad they went this route.

Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess. I think he looks OK, but I wasn't really interested in seeing Eric Forman. I wanted to see Venom's face, which only had about 20 seconds of screen time.

Anyways, thank you for reminding me of why I put you on my ignore list. Really... thank you. :)

"He likes Raimi Venom I'm going to put him on my ignore list!" are you serious

lol pulling an Avi Arad I see

"yeah you're the ones defending this monstrosity."

"actually it's okay, I guess."

In all seriousness, I'm sorry you have issues where people challenge your opinion, whereas you have no problem doing that to others. :csad:
