I think Nolan really should kill her using Joker.

Harvey and Rachel will be hurting Joker's deal with killing mob bosses and they also help Batman in catching Joker.

So Joker will go to Rachel's house, where there also will be Harvey Dent.

So he kills Rachel just like he did it with Barbara in TKJ. But this time he will also beat Harvey, but with no killing of him. Why? Because Joker will be going to make him to look like freak (scarring and turning into 2Face), because he wants Harvey to feel the same, what Joker felt, when he became Joker.

So anyway, he will do that and then Batman at the end will finally catch and beat him, but not kill. He is still on justice side. But in the beginning of 3rd movie, he will become darker person.

I doubt there should be his love interest in 3rd movie. But if they introduce love story, they should go with Selina Kyle (NO CATWOMAN!!! NO CATWOMAN!!! ).

But I think Batman vs. 2Face will be controled be another Joker's game.

yeah!!! you have to think. it's better if she's not around in the first place.
she's just one more liability for the criminals to exploit. that's why she needs to be killed. because Bruce needs to learn and grow from that sad fact.

Im counting on her to do so because I want Dawes more developed and

she's a great balance to the movie. I like Bruce and Rachel together.

Well Katie did sign on for three movies so they do have the option to use her in this and the third one (and of course, they also have the option to not use her) but i really want Katie and Rachel back.

I HATE when characters either just disappear or are recast! Plus if we're gonna get rid of her, it must be in a big dramatic way. A big character death will provide much storyline rather than her just not returning.

Although am i the only one that liked her in the movie? I liked the character and while Katies acting wasn't stellar, of course she was gonna be the worst in a cast with Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Christian Bale, Liam Neeson and Gary Oldman!

They obviously have an arc for the character in both this and the third and rather than just kill her off, I'd like to see them go through with it.

Of course, if her death results in us getting Catwoman into the series, all of the above in moot! Catwoman for No. 3!!!

You're not alone in liking Rachel aka Holmes. Many like her too and they just need to speak up. Plus I ignore some fans that only want her demise because of TomKat. That has nothing to do with her work and character in Batman. Sad how the heartless media comes unscathed in all this when they're the ones TomKat obsess and Katie gets all the blame.
Now Im confuse because I remember when Katie and Caine had that Beverly Hills press conference both stated they're waiting to get signed on for part 2 and even Caine expressed wanting more screentime for the sequel. Then on August 2005 on Moviehole and Scifi Wire when Charles Roven producer of Begins was promoting Brothers Grimm he said the only actors signed on were Bale,Caine,Holmes and Oldman.
He said Morgan Freeman also expresses interest in returning but he has not even signed on yet. Thanks for your input. We just have to do more waiting then.

So, essentially, it's an option contract...can do one more or two more if they want...but they can choose not to have her.

That's fine. It's up to Nolan and the story he's created for The Dark Knight.

I hoping that she stays. It would be interesting to see Bruce struggling with the idea or possibility of wanting to have a life with Rachel and his on going battle with being Gotham's greatest defender.

I'm all for the demise of the Rachel character, if and only if, it is related to what it does to Bruce's character...his mental state. And it would only work if Rachel has more character development within the sequel.

So, yeah, I want Katie back. I thought she was great in the film even if she was a bit too young for Assistant DA. Not her fault...it's the fault of Nolan and the casting director. But, Katie pulled it off well.

But, apart of me would like to see Bruce and Rachel at the end of the hopefully third film, finally getting together....even if he's still Batman. That would be nice.

we wont have problems from artists interested in the Batman track because underground British band Fireexit also created a song for Katie "KH"
and "The Reasons I cant have you".
High and Mighty band from Japan did "Katie".
Dave Matthews band wants to do one for Katie as well as Third Eye Blind.
Nickelback's Far Away song originally has Katie in their minds but didnt fit in Katie's schedule. London artist McFly is also interested.
These songs are pretty good actually better than that "Bruce Wayne" song I heard at BOF last year. Good thing it wasn't greenlighted because it was crappy.

All videos aside, I want Katie recurring in the sequel. She held her own despite being the new and youngin face surrounded by the pros.
Rachel is so kewwl and I like Bruce and Rachel together.
