Cooper would bring enough charisma to the role to satisfy me. Grant Morrison says that you need to be able to root a little for Lex against Superman, so having someone who has any charm like Cooper would help accomplish that.
And I do think that Limitless showcases some of the reasons Cooper could pull it off. The character is energetic, charismatic, and very intelligent, but has this arrogance that gets him into a lot of trouble. Just make all of that darker and give Cooper some genuinely threatening and deadly serious parts and I think you have a good Lex Luthor.
Luthor should be enjoyable to watch and pretty affable...right up until we get to see the real wolf in sheeps clothing. Two of my favorite villains, Ratigan from Great Mouse Detective and Joker from Dark Knight, have that seen; Joker when the ferries don't blow up and he stops smiling and just tries to kill
everybody, and Ratigan when he decides it's time to drop the posturing and
just go for Basil of Bakerstreet's throat with his bare hands.
I really don't think he'll be in this movie...which makes me skeptical. Does anyone really know for sure if he'll be in the movie in any capacity? They've already started filming...
See that's only thing about lex that I don't agree with Grant about.....i don't wanna root for lex.....I want to understand, but at the sametime, hate and fear him. I wanna root for good, not someone who is evil, not even a little....superman is who needs the rooting IMO
Well, since he's done shooting TDKR, and you barely see his face...

...stranger things have happened.
No...you brought up (serious or not) the possibility of Cooper 'playing Flash', and I as well as at least another poster commented/implied that it's okay to play more than one comic character, in case that was suggested as an issue. So since Mark Strong was also suggested as Luthor, aleady playing Sinestro wouldn't put him out of the running.
We can use bigger and slower font, if you'd like.![]()
So not even a tiny bit of you wanted to see the Coyote catch the Roadrunner?
The thing I thought summed up Lex's hatred for Superman was in All Star, which we can relate to in some way. He said to Clark something like, "How would you feel if someone kept standing in your way and wouldn't let you pass?"
In a twisted sort of way, that is something that we could probably relate to...but as I said, it's twisted cause Lex is twisted. But you do see his point.
Well that's different lol...I see what your saying, I just don't want to feel bad for him until maybe the end of the series....I wanna really start to hate him and go on from there
Or the guy who snagged Christina Hendricks.Or you can DESPISE them, like Bully Ray, Gunner, Ric Flair and Bobby Roode from TNA![]()
MEEP MEEP...damn it!
I see what you're saying. There are 2 ways you can feel about a villain IMO.
You can love them, like The Joker. Or you can DESPISE them, like Bully Ray, Gunner, Ric Flair and Bobby Roode from TNA![]()
What about the response right after your post that said 'there are 0 reasons he can't do both'....did you miss that one too?yea....be a smartass...typical from the loud mouths on this site...........anyway I didnt see the post about Mark Strong aside from you mentioning it, so everything else you said about another poster made no sense to me..........SINCE I DIDNT SEE IT........and so what if another poster brought it up that Strong could play Luthor, the answer from most would still be "no, he played Sinestro".....if its right or not is regardless.
There's a guy playing both GL and Deadpool too. Eve if thats Marvel/DC, seems like it's still okay.and no I was not being serious about Cooper playing The Flash, it was a rumor from when the Green Lantern 2 and Flash movies were being talked about.
Who is this Lex they speak of, all I see is Bane.Well, since he's done shooting TDKR, and you barely see his face...

I don't know what the argument is about now. But I'm the one that said the 0 reasons thing.
I know...I was basically agreeing with the sentiment.
The other thing in regards to Strong in particular is that the chances of GL getting a sequel aren't exactly high, considering how well that movie did and how well it was received. So for all intents and purposes, his Sinestro is done just like that franchise, and it won't take much more to completely forget that franchise (and Strong's Sinestro) even existed. So playing Luthor wouldn't really conflict with....anything.![]()

Hey..I liked Rick flair though lol

Ah. I misunderstood. I thought you implied CAW said it. My apologies.
Better. Much better.
