I think the Crow complaints were because

A) He wasn't that Crow like.
B) It's another Crow movie, what are the odds it would be good anyway?

Cooper's a perfectly capable actor. I'd recommend Limitless if you want to see him in something.

Cheers, I'll check it out :)

Yeah, The Crow sequels. If poor Brandon could actually spit in his grave, he would have drowned in it......doesn't make sense, but you understand :p

Another complaint is that he was going to play Eric Draven. If it was a different character I doubt anyone would care that much.

I liked City Of Angels. Mainly because of my obsession with Mia Kirshner.

I know its hollywood, and honestly dont care what we think, but they must have known it would upset Brandon's fans? That movie was his legacy...Making crappy sequels is one thing, but to remake the original...just no. It would essentially be like kicking dirt on his grave. Imo, that movie should never happen.

Reminds me of the time when Heath's fans wanted the Joker boycotted from future Batman movies. I didn't agree with that however, cause in the long run, it's different.

Brandon Lee as Eric Draven is the greatest performance in a comic book adaptation ever, imo.

Bradley Cooper as Lex?!

Is that better or worse than Billy Zane getting the role?

There are very few actors I wouldn't rather see in the role than Billy Zane.

Put it this way: can a guy be a brilliant elvis tribute act just because he looks a lot like Elvis?

No.

He needs to be able to sing well too.

:)

I think any chance Billy Zane had at bagging a role in this movie died when he decided to star in that Scorpion King crap.

I think that chance died long before then. :o

Yeah, he is. I can understand why some people want him for the role since he looks the part somewhat and is decent as long as he's playing upper-crust snob types (like in Titanic). But there is more to Lex than that. Yes, he has his money and power, but there also needs to be a hard edge to Lex. He needs to be ruthless and convinced that his actions are the right ones; that he's doing what he's doing for the greater good. He should never stray into obvious psychopath territory, but he should be genuinely scary... the type of guy whose employees walk on eggshells around. I don't think Zane could pull off that kind of presence.

I could see Zane stealing 40 cakes though. He's gotten a bit chubby over the years.

I guess my beef is that if he was not bald, no one would be suggesting him as right for the part.

He's wasn't a notably good actor even in the prime of his career, and he's certainly not improved. In fact his career has taken a nose dive into obscurity. He's not in any way current
He has no star power assosiated with his name.

And it just makes me belly laugh every time someone posts a pic of him saying 'he's perfect for the part'.

That kind of fanboy logic applied to those wanting Cavill for Superman, Bale for Batman, Crispin Glover for the Joker, Clive Owen for Bond, Patrick Stewart for Professor X, etc.

Billy Zane can't act, has poor screen presence and little to no charisma and I've seen him in quite a few flicks (unfortunatly). And looking at the cast of MOS so far, they are going for quality actors and Zane isn't even on the same level as Meloni or Lennix.

Actually, no it didn't. You can say that about Cavill if you want, because most people had only seen him in a handful of things. And I'll even give you Glover, since he had become relatively obscure.

But people had PLENTY of other films to use as references when they were lobbying for Bale, Owen and Stewart. All of those guys are veteran actors and while it is true that they all looked the part to some degree, they also had plenty of good material under their belts to justify fancasting them in those roles.

Zane has been in plenty of movies, too. But in contrast to Bale, Owen and Stewart, the majority of performances he's delivered have convinced a number of us that he would be a bad choice for Lex, no matter how much he might look the part.

There are 4 movies I like with Zane.

1st - Titanic. I thought he did a great job in that.

2nd - Dead Calm. I thought he was awesome in that.

3rd - The Phantom. I'm a fan of the character.

4th - that film he was in where Kelly Brook goes topless :hehe:

I heard that Cooper as Lex was false from some WB or DC executive.

If you're a fan of the character of The Phantom, then that's a reason to HATE that movie, lol.
