All this Guy Pearce hate breaks my heart. He's SUCH an incredibly talented actor.

I feel like The Count of Monte Cristo and a couple of his earlier slimy a-hole roles ruined him for a lot of people. Which particularly sucks, because it's only due to the fact that he played his roles too well. He's played some great non-slimy-a-hole roles beautifully.

That' probably true. That he's just too good in his roles and that's why the hate.

He's done some likable characters that also helped his career so I dont get it fully. Memento, Priscilla, LA Confidential, The Time Machine are fine examples.

I'm betting if Guy Pearce was chosen to play Lex, he would be game for shaving his head just as Spacey was.

Commitment to the character and all that.

I think GP would make a fine Lex. He has the looks and the acting ability. Not an obvious choice, but a good one, I think.

I wouldn't have a fit if he got the role. He's a decent actor, and there are much worse people suggested for the role *cough* Billy Zane *cough*.

I'm sure I'd get over the impulse to hit him if he played one of my favourite characters of all time and did him justice
