He just doesn't strike me as someone who could trick the world into thinking he's some kind of charming, great man. And that's the Lex Luthor I want to see this time.

For the record, I agree with you that Lex should have come from humble beginnings and worked to become "elite" but I think it's a mask he should be able to wear very convincingly. Lex would be the kind of guy who wants everyone to believe he belongs with that crowd, imo.

I dunno. He always struck me as the kind of guy who'd feel he is ABOVE that crowd.

But Owen's just a matter of taste, and i've liked him for it for a while. He's got the look I like, the intensity, the charm (imo), the toughness. He's got an oscar nom. And i'm sure I read somewhere Snyder wanted him for 300.

Yeah, I'm not denying that Owen's a real possibility, he's just not what I envision for Lex at all.

I like that too. My only complaint would be the pitch of his voice. I just love the timbre of Clancy Brown so much I can't image someone without such a low pitch.

Luthor needs to be in the hypothetical sequel if he isn't in Man of Steel. Really want a great live-action version of the modern Luthor, such a great, interesting and important character to the Superman-mythos.

I agree. I hope there is at least a mention of Lexcorp in MOS.

i still kind of like Daniel Craig suggestion from acouple months back

he has the rough intimidating look but also with the sense of class we all would like for lex

and a big name actor he is james bond for god sakes and i like that i really haven't seen him play a villain he has been a good guy in GWTDT,Cowboys and aliens,bond franchise,defiance

I still like the idea of Guy Pearce. I know he's in the new Iron Man movie, but it looks like that might just be a bit part since Ben Kingsley is clearly playing the big bad in the movie. I think Pearce would make an epic Lex.

So what do you guys think about the news a few years back that Nolan was chatting with Billy Zane about either TDKR or MOS? He obviously wasnt in TDKR so that leaves MOS. Do you think he could be Lex since when have NO news of him and neither Zane or Nolan has said anything about their "Convo." Or do you think that Nolan talked to him about Bane and the role went to Hardy?
