what i like about brolin is he is handsome, charismatic but even at an older age of 44 he still is very youthful looking but he also looks like a tough bad ass and hey he is ma kent's husband:oldrazz:

Fantastic Suggestion.

Just the attitude I imagined. That man that can go from calm and calculating to maniacal and psychotic at the blink of an eye.

Is this Brolin's mugshot?
Yeah..I can see him as Lex now lol

Yeah, if we're just going to make suggestions based on whoever may have happened to have the shaved head look at one point or another... why not go with Natalie Portman? :o

Some of the suggestions in this thread have been ridiculous, Matthew McConaughey, Matt Damon should never get near a role like Lex.
J Phoenix is also a poor choice imo. I don't get why he's rated so highly, he always plays the same type of characters. He is always brooding and I never find any humour in any of his performances.

A role like Lex needs an inspired choice like Michael Shannon for Zod or Heath Ledger as The Joker.
It also depends on what interpretation of Lex we want to see on screen, I liked the mix of Lex's that they had in Smallville, he was the ruthless businessman but also a scientist. Michael Rosenbaum was the best interpretation of Lex we've had on screen IMO but I would like to see a more scientific Lex than that.

I'll throw this one into the hat, Daniel Day Lewis.

If the rulebook is changed so that you can be nominated for superhero movies at the Oscars, only then will DDL potentially step into a good written role.

^^^ Daniel Day Lewis would make sort of the older type of Lex.

It depends on which way they want to go with Lex.

Older or younger.

I prefer he look around the same age as Superman, or at most just a little older.

Makes the rivalry somehow look better for them to be in a similar looking age, but that might just be my taste.

Likely the crew at WB has several characteristics they intend to go with, as there are a lot of ways to portray the character.

I'd like it if they did a number of actor Auditions, instead of just hiring one outright like Spacey.

Lex has always been slightly older than Superman though. I think it makes a nod to sibling rivalary within stories...the older brother being jealous of the favoured younger brother.

This.

That's why I think he should look just a little bit older, not look old enough to be Superman's dad.

Phoenix is my fab, but Brolin is growing on me.

That sounded weird.
