If you're going to use a picture... lets be fair and use a recent one. Now, there's nothing wrong with this at all. I just don't see it. Talent is through the roof but I just don't see it. I guess I want someone who looks more active on screen. Not that I need Lex to go toe to toe with Supes, no, but I want a mix of the Lex's from Birthright /Lex Luthor: Man of Steel/ All Star Supes. Younger, vigorous, almost anxious, arrogant, manipulative, in shape, genius, obsessive, evil... etc. etc. That guy going up against Cavill's Superman would be awesome. And this guy...

I was more disputing that he doesn't look a day over 40 because I don't think that's true.

Anyway, I'm going to watch Pearce in Lockout....maybe this will change my mind about him.

It's an ambitious grab, but there's no denying that this actor suits the character well. His performances on There Will Be Blood and Gangs of New York as a villain alone captures the sinister personality of Lex

Oh, and he's charming too. I'm just putting out the idea. Highly improbable that he'll be interested, but one can dream

I don't really see there being an issue with Luthor being older. The old/young past/future dynamic between Luthor and Superman makes a lot of sense.

Okay so I watch Lockout with Pearce and he definitely does smug well. lol....I can see him as Lex, but....I still would prefer someone else.

Guys... once again, DDL would NEVER play Lex Luthor. He's a brilliant actor, maybe the best ever... but he was asked about starring in a comic book movie in an interview once and he said they these types of films hold no interest for him. Maybe if Lincoln is critically panned and his role in it is viewed as a career-killer then he might rethink things, but I don't see that happening. Hell, no one liked Nine and it didn't hurt him at all.

I want a youngish Lex...if you have read any of my post you would know that. I said, I want a "youngish" Lex...NOT OLD. That's in every single one of my posts.

I'm fine with an oldish Lex provided the actor looks in shape and in no way, besides being bald, resembles the Hackman/Spacey Lex.

At the end of the day if the actor is good in the role I won't be complaining about how his looks anyhow. If I had my way it would be a good, youthful type of actor who gets the role. Alot of actors can be youthful in their 50's so I'm not excluding that age bracket at all.
