HARDY: Colonel Hardy

MISC WOMAN: Nothing here under that name...

HARDY: Try my mother's maiden name... Luthor.

*and the crowd goes wild!*

:p

Lol I know it's a stretch but we are dealing with Nolan here...and we all know how he likes to keep things very quiet...not to mention he looks so much like he could be Lex...:)

I'm hoping he end up being him.

i love meloni big svu fan here but him as lex would be bad imo it is like mark whalberg or a bruce willis being lex

way to street centric for me

Growing up on STAS and Lex skin being a little darker and brown I think Luthor should be black. Just makes him more interesting.

Also, no to Meloni. I've seen Meloni in everything from dramas to comedies. He is no Lex. Doesn't even look like him.

what about nikolaj coster-waldau for lex he plays a great villain on game of thrones

He's up for a role in Cap 2

Corrupt businessman Luthor please. I was never wild on the mad scientist version of Luthor.

The John Byrne business mogul Lex is certainly great. I also would like that he is still a genius though. I always love the "I could have saved the world if it wasn't for you, Superman" Lex.

Strange he didnt end up in THOR's sequel having the same director as GOT-episodes.
Well, considering Emelia Clarke was also up for a role in Cap 2 at one point (or may still be...it's hard to keep up with that casting circus), I'd say Marvel Studios in general is just one big Game of Thrones fanclub. Not that I'm complaining, they have good taste.

I wish Nikolaj would play a superhero rather than a villain... but if he's cast as Zemo I won't complain at all.

It would be badass if Meloni is Luthor. After seeing him on True Blood this past summer I definitely think he could pull Lex off gloriously.

You understand that if they use that version, he will be updated and not act like some cackling 1940s serial villain, right?

I really like the Businessman... it just resonates with the whole businessmen are evil vibe that's been strong in society... him being a scientist at heart works well too, and gives credence for how he can credibly be a threat to Superman physically so consistently. Either that or you need a major scientist character in his employ like Emil Hamilton.

No use Cenobite. When most people think of Mad scientist Lex they think of the Donner buffon, whereas a modern scientist lex will be more llike the one in Allstar.
Offtopic looking forward to JMS take on Luthor.

Lex is so much cooler as the scientist. With his genius intellect, the possibilities of things he can invent to kill Superman are endless.

Lex should be like the Governor in the walking dead played by David Morrissey

good looking, charming and puts on a great public mask that lets people think he is a truly a saint but behind the scene he is sadistic and shows no remorse and very intimidating presence

Richard Donner did not use a mad scientist Lex. He used a career criminal, hence why Lex calls himself a criminal in the film.

Agreed, but I don't think he should be as sick as the Governor is (at least in the comics). I'd like to be able to see where Luthor's coming from in his way of thinking to a certain extent.

On another note, thanks to you, I've now got the image of David Morrissey as Luthor in my head, and I like it. He's got a great commanding voice and presence.

Morrissey would make an epic Luthor, although it might be tough to make him feel different than his Governor character, who is probably exactly the type of guy Lex would be in a zombie apocalypse (minus the whole floating head stuff).
