The Official Lex Luthor Casting Thread

It's funny, I recently watched an interview with Michael Shannon where he was talking about his role on Boardwalk Empire, and he said he was the Lex Luthor to Nucky Thompson's Superman. He even pronounced Luth-or correctly.

I'd cast him for that alone. The name was spelled that way for a reason. It always irked me that some Lex Luthors out there didn't take care to pronounce it correctly.

Shannon being cast as whoever would be excellent. This to me is the same as casting Ledger as the Joker. He's not the first guy you thought of, but you know he's a good choice.

Yeah. If I had to choose, I'd pick Brainiac, but Luthor would be great too.

Shannon is too overtly creepy for the Lex that I want to see. I finally want to see the "perfect" Lex - the handsome, charming, billionaire Adonis who's reached the pinnacle of human potential and who resents Kal-El for exceeding that.

He's a bit crazy looking but I can see him being made to look handsome. He's got the square jaw and piercing eyes.
