Anyone suggest Matt Dillon. I think he can pull of the look.

Think I've seen that suggestion, wouldn't be bad.

Remember Amy Adams discussion on actual age vs actual look? His type of look doesn't scream "old man" Lex.

Spidey just doesn't want to see a gap like we had with Spacey and Routh if I'm not mistaken.

And I agree. I want Superman and Lex to be the same age. I've never understood where the expectation came from that Superman and Lex should have a large age gap, other than "because that's how Donner did it." I hated the Donner version of Lex Luthor and I for one will be glad to finally be rid of it.

Didn't like Hackman or Spacey Lex all that much. Not suave (don't call me sexist now!) or charismatic enough for how I picture Lex to be. Of course in Hackman's defense the corporate Lex really took off (besides comics) in the 90's with TAS Lex, John Shea's Lex, and similar to Shea's (at least imo) the Rosie Lex.

i still like shannon he has the same age distance as cavill and amy do since he is 35

the problem with routh was he was too baby faced while cavill is more hardened so the distance in age wont be as severe

Ya he could be alright, just saying his look is more sinister (still better than Hack-acey)

I'd like a more suave charismatic look. It makes his manipulation of public that much more believable for me.

Lex doesn't need to look handsome to win the public over. Was George Bush handsome or Colonel Gaddafi to win over the people?

I think you missed the point. Some people don't want a guy that LOOKS like a villain in the face already. If they have a sinister look, you kind of automatically pre judge he is a bad guy. The interesting dynamic to have someone more suave is the manipulation is that much more hidden.

Yeah, but you look at Bush and Gaddafi...you can see evil in their eyes...:woot:

LOL, it really is true. Although I'm in favor of a more "GQ" Lex, we could certainly have a skulking, ugly Lex that is still very corporate. I just got finished watching Inside Job, this Oscar winning documentary about the Financial Crisis, and I can say without a doubt, that the entire world was robbed blind by a bunch of ugly, corrupt old bastards.

Still missing the point. The idea us to adapt an existing character with a clearly established and defined design, from one medium to another. Not reinvent one.

That's why I think Clooney would be cool, he looks like a hero, has played a hero, and has the acting chops. I want everyone else in the city to see Lex as a hero, but Supernan and Lois find the truth,

Well just look at Shannon's face portfolio

Now thats a face that is trustworthy to the public

That is a face behind closed doors that is not trustworthy. Simple

I would like to see an actor who's best known for heroic roles. Maybe Daniel Craig or something. I even like the Clooney suggestion.

I'd like it to be one of those "turning the public persona on its head" type performances.

He's become my favourite choice for Lex, I actually think he could also play Brainiac though.

He's been one of my main choices for a while now... but since Bond is back on that probably cancels him out. :(

So Keaton as Perry is cool, but Clooney as Lex is not?
