Him opening up about the film has me believing that we are going to get some more names in the next two weeks.

Just out of curiosity, how would you guys feel if they went with a new approach and had Lois slightly older than Clark in this film?

Like let's say, 3-4 years older than him? Or would people prefer for Lois to be the same age, if not younger than Clark like she was in the donner film?

I have another suggestion/somebody who I like.

Brittany Snow
normal_004.jpg

She's 25 and she is kinda cutesy (no more so than Kendrick) but she is a solid actress and I've seen spunk from her in Nip Tuck and some crummy movie (which she was good in) named Finding Amanda.
My mom is a fan of Snow. She was on some daytime show.

I've always liked the idea of Lois being a little older than Clark but I don't see WB going that route.

Kendrick really doesn't have the Lois look. Not even close. She also comes off younger and more mismatched for this role than Bosworth. She's a tiny little thing and comes off like a little girl.

She's someone who really shouldn't be associated with this role at all.

I like her but she's so not suited for Lois. On par with Bosworth in terms of being able to take her seriously as a seasoned journo.

That would be incredibly misleading, as people would assume Nolan is directing, not Snyder (Which is what a lot of fanboys also secretly desire, but that is neither here nor there :o). "From the producer of The Dark Knight and Inception, and the director of 300 and Watchmen" would be the way to go, my lad.

I know this Snyder's movie but trust me it will help with marketing, they might add that in aswell but I was just referring to Nolan's markability. Trust me I get more annoyed than anyone when this film gets referred to as Nolan's. Its kind of like when George Lucas is credited for the Emipre Strikes Back but he didn't direct it.

Thats what I thought aswell

This movie sounds more like a begining story, I think that she would be fine for Lois just starting out.

It was still George Lucas' story and he was very much hands on with the film. He just chose to hand the direction job off to someone else cause of his other duties. Lucas was much more instrumental in the development of Empire Strikes back than Kershner. I'm pretty sure Kershner just shot from the screenplay. Most of the ideas belonged to Lucas. He probably could of brought in any number of directors.

And coached the actors, and made sure the sets were what they needed to be.

Lucas' contribution during production was to call Kershner up on the phone and gripe at the guy for being over-schedule, or to show up on the set once ever few blue moons.

Thank you

The situation would be like that movie,Sanctum. All you saw was James Cameron's name. Sure it bombed, but it never got good reviews.

'Director of The Dark Knight' was plastered all over Inception. That movie got good praise, reviews and made over 800-Mill.

The Dark Knight had brilliant reviews (not to mention the "hype" over Heath,in every respect. His death and acting)

I think it has more to do with reviews and hype. The trust and skill of Christopher Nolan will help as well. Everyone knows if he is involved,it will live up to the hopes of every movie go'er.

this is so offtopic, but, from what I read, Lucas oversaw all the sfx sequences for ESB, he also co-wrote the screenplay, although he did not take a credit for it, giving the credit to Leigh Brackett out of respect as she died, even though her screenplay ideas were not used in the movie.

and yeah , Rodrigo, Nolan's name on posters will help the Superman movie, 'from the director of Dark knight' would have got a lot of bums in seats for Inception, no doubt that would have been the selling point when a lot of folk were mulling over the movies on offer at the foyer. That's what a lot of folk do, they don't know what the hell they want to see until they get there and look at the posters, they just want a night out at the pics.
I think 'from the director of 300' will help a lot as well, as that struck a chord with the action crowd, and was a bit of a mini-phenomenon. The '300' tagline will also signal that this is a different kind of Superman movie.

That's different though.

Kershner, Kasdan and those guys were brought on-board after Star Wars which they inherited from Lucas (cast, story, universe, etc.) To be fair, Lucas was making **** up as he went along and there wasn't this "vast epic story" spanning many movies like he's claimed over the years. At one point in the development of Return of the Jedi, he was seriously going to renege and say that Darth Vader really wasn't Luke's father.

All the major calls on Superman have been made by Nolan.

I'm starting to feel like Jessica Biel maybe be a great Lois Lane!!

My point was though using Nolan's name in the marketing will only help the movie.

Very few directors who have name recognition from the general public and, no offense, Nolan ain't one of them. Spielberg, Lucas and Cameron; maybe Tarantino.

Regarding the marketing, always thought it'll be more like "From the people who brought you Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Inception, 300..." actually.

I think Nolan's name is becoming more well known. It's not like Inception or TDK and TDKR are art house indie films. I'd even argue people know his name more then Synder's. Nolan's name is a pretty good selling point, and I doubt WB won't use it to promote the film. However I agree that they're also gonna mention Watchmen, TDK , Inception , and 300 in the ads.

Nothing to argue there. People would know Nolan more than Snyder.

And you're right, he's becoming more well known as his track-record includes more and more hits. But it ain't there yet.

It's clear whether Nolan is a house hold name or not , WB consider's him an asset and they're gonna tout his name when pushing the film . The guy is in charge of their biggest cash cow and is help developing there other potential cash cow. His name is gonna be in the mentioned in the ads , if for nothing else to say to people," It was made with the help of the guy who did TDK and Inception" i.e this product is good.

Definitely, even if they do just say from the people who brought you the Dark Knight etc etc his names gonna be used in some way or another.

Its a Superman movie, being produced by Christopher Nolan, the man who brought us TDK and Inception...Two of the most popular films in the last decade or so. A man who is critically acclaimed to the tee,and knows nothing of giving anything bad to the public.

Zack Synder,a critically acclaimed director.

Two guys giving the world a new and improved Superman...No doubt going to be packed with everything any audience member wants to see.

I think it'll sell nicely :)
