The Official Mjolnir Thread

What do you think of the Mjolnir for the film?

  • AWESOME!!!

  • Pretty cool.

  • Meh...

  • I hate it!

There are of course several new H.D. versions of the clip online at this point, I will offer links to none, as I follow the rules....but by now anyone interested should be on You Tube.

It looks pretty dead on to me, I think the handle could have been a tad bit longer, but honestly it never was very long in any 616 comic, and that is the best Thor out there.

He shouldn't have to weild it like a sledge.... thats part of the power of it all.

It looked cool but still the hammer head looked WAY WAY too big and the handle too short... it looks like it'll be like a heavy slug

I'm actually much more impressed with the much lower budget, more accurate Hulk movie thor's hammer:

Really makes me sad that no images can be posted on this site anymore even when they are released to the public via movie........jeeze make me work so hard and open up another screen to look at what people are talking about....:whatever:

Anyway Thors hammer look incredible......music...exactly what I want to hear in the Thor movie....and jesus can next year come faster.....please..... :thor: :cap:

how is that hammer up there more accurate when the hammer in the comics is silver or grey in color and essentially a big square block...the one up there has rounded off edges and is almost black in color??

and lets not even talk about what he's wearing....

Are you for real, the movie design is like 99% 616 accurate. That looks like the hammers people used to use to make things out of metal.

Just viewed the image again. Handle looks too short and skinny. Then again I'm an old fart who has been reading Thor since the 70's and I picture Thor using a bulkier hammer.

I read a thor story where thor fights hulk and absolutely hands hulk his arse, hulk stops fighting and refuses to fight thor until thor throws away the hammer

hulk - 'hammer strong, not thor, throw away hammer and hulk will show you'

thor refuses. hulk then grabs a female bystander and threatens to crush her unless thor throws away the hammer. thor throws the hammer miles away so it will take a good long while to return, then hulk absolutely lays the smack down on thor. the hammer returns and hulk refuses to fight thor again.

an absolutely brilliant issue which shows the pure power of mjolnir.
Hulk would never grab a female bystander and threaten to crush her, nor would he refuse a fight out of fear.

He is also worthy

I thought Mjolnir was supposed to be a short handled weapon.

Yeah it is, but for Marvel's CLASSIC version it has a 3 to 4 handed handle.
Coipel the newer artist had been drawing Mjolnir's handle about two hands long.

dude thats the ultimate avengers cartoon, the ultimate universe based cartoon movie. i had alot of trouble with that scene. i read it as more about hulks endless strength, the angrier hes getting at not being able to pick it up, the stronger hes getting, rather than hulk being worthy. hes having alot of difficulty with it. i doubt a raging destructive force would be truely worthy of weilding the hammer.

the only mainstream characters i can recall of being worthy of being able to lift mjolnir were cap, beta ray bill, odin, wonder man and thunderstrike.

and in the dc vs marvel comic wonder woman picks it up but then drops it cos it wouldnt be a fair fight.

i dont think we'll see any villians able to lift it in the avengers films, it just defeats such a mammoth task and character trait of thors far too easily

There is NO such scene in that movie....Thor beats the crap out of him with the hammer and it barely slows him down....Hulk then has to struggle to pick it up and beans Thor with it, thus knocking hin out of the battle

I own the movie, I usually will watch it with the trivia track and I don't recall any such scene...if you could repost the link, Ill certainly look at it again

Dude, that scene's totally in there. It's stupid, but it's in there. I'm just glad that it doesn't count for s*** outside of that one terrible movie.

Mjolnir looks practically dead on 616 to me. I don't get the gripes.

the fanboys needing something to gripe about so they can feel superior to the unwashed masses

It's weird to be such a huge Thor fan and not be angry about something now that we're getting more details about the movie. I wonder if there's something wrong with me. :csad:

ive been pretty happy with everything the marvel movies have done with the lead up and happy with what ive heard of thor.

i dont get vicious over small things like most fans on here cos i realise how lucky we are to have these characters brought to the screen in such good ways
