I tried out the 2016 remake when it was a psplus game but just couldn't get into it. Maybe I'll give it another shot before Rift Apart comes out

I am planning on it, but not at launch. I am gonna be very selective of the games I choose to burn $70 on.

Its probably a not very long game. So I would also wait for a price drop if I was planning to buy Rifts Apart.

I already have a ps5 but ratchet and clank is a system seller for me yeah I love ratchet and clank that much second favorite video game franchise behind only Zelda so yeah day 1 for sure.

I played Ratchet & Clank for free, so thank you Sony. I can now say I played a Ratchet & Clank game. The graphics looked good and it reminded me of the cartoonish platform games I've played in the ps1. I liked that you will hop to different planets and you can return to them when you want to find the collectibles. The gadgets and weapons are cool as well. I finished all the optional objectives. I unlocked all weapons. Though I missed a couple of collectibles.

Even though I enjoyed it, I knew this was not going to appeal to me. Playing the full game, didn't remove my disinterest with cartoony looking games and games that doesn't feature a playable human looking character. I enjoyed the game but playing it wasn't really fulfilling for me. I also didn't care about the story. But I hope Sony gives away more free games especially the ones that I wouldn't buy right away - Resistance, Infamous First Light, The Order 1886, etc.

To be fair, the 2016 Ratchet & Clank has a pretty half-assed presentation. The remake has better controls and nicer weapons compared to the original, but everything from characters, story, music and art-style has no personality, where as the original games nailed them.
