How about Mariska Hargitay?? I know, I know, she is not latina by any means... but she is a talented actress and can play a cop for sure... as we have seen in her edition of Law and Order.

Mariska Hargitay would be an interesting choice... and it's not completely and totally necessary to cast a strictly Latino/Italian/etc. actress in the role of Montoya. Most of the major roles in 'Begins' (Batman, Rhas, Scarecrow, and Gordon, to name a few) were portrayed by British/European actors (Bale is Welsh, Neeson is from Norther Ireland, Goldman is British, and Murphy is Irish) even though the characters they played are not British or European in the comics. Casting somebody like Hargitay (who rocks on L&O: SVU) would be a great way to continue the trend.

How about Maria Menounos? She's Greek rather than Latino, but I think she could handle the role regardless (although that may just be because I'm a fan of hers).

There's a difference between nationality and race/ethnicity. Granted, you have latinos you'd just as soon peg them as stright-up white, but I don't think the casting of Montoya should be one of those situations.

I think that on and off screen Michelle Rodriguez is gross, I think she would trash up the movie a little bit. I like Eva Longoria for the part, she's a better actress than she gets to show as Gabrielle on Desperate Housewives, she's pretty, can play a cop and has worked with Bale recently. Not to say it HAS to be her, this role has a very wide range of actresses who fit the bill... just no Rodriguez- please, i'll puke.

I dont think anyone has mentioned Jennifer Esposito yet, I think she'd be awesome in TDK.
She also has at least 3 movies I can think of where she's played a hot but tough female cop.
