Yeah, I don't understand the people wanted Montoya to be a "bad ass" character. She is a good cop. An honest cop. Her purpose is to show that Gordon is bringing more honest people into GCPD to symbolize the change that Batman and Gordon are bringing about in the city. She is behind the ideals that Batman and Gordon are holding up and defending.

If you want a good honest cop that is also cynical and a bit jealous of the way that Batman can operate and Gordon's faith in him, cast Bullock. If you want someone who will have a little conflict with the idea of working with a vigilante but who will understand the need- cast Montoya.

She IS Montoya is my opinion. Like Hunter said, she wouldn't be glammed up for the role. Just look at the pic below. She's very beliveable looking for Montoya. If Eva Mendes, or J Lo were to nab the role, i'd say to myself "....that's J Lo in a cop uniform!"...in other words no matter how good her acting was, i'd never truly believe she was Montoya, unlike i would with Paula Garces....

She's a respected actress, she's smokin' hot, she can play tough cop easily, and she's the right age (33).

I think that on and off screen Michelle Rodriguez is gross, I think she would trash up the movie a little bit. I like Eva Longoria for the part, she's a better actress than she gets to show as Gabrielle on Desperate Housewives, she's pretty, can play a cop and has worked with Bale recently. Not to say it HAS to be her, this role has a very wide range of actresses who fit the bill... just no Rodriguez- please, i'll puke.

I dont think anyone has mentioned Jennifer Esposito yet, I think she'd be awesome in TDK.
She also has at least 3 movies I can think of where she's played a hot but tough female cop.

I don't want Rodriguez or Longoria anywhere near a Batman film. Mendez is already in Ghost Rider. Esposito would be a good choice. Sanchez is hot...but yeah she is not a very good actress.
