I was worried that since Magneto's my favorite character that every time I saw Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch I would be taken out of the movie. But seeing her, let's just say I'll be too distracted to be taken out of the movie. Quicksilver's still going to be a problem though.

However, the action poses of Scarlet Witch are incredible. They're right out of the comics. Remind me though, can she be called Wanda and QS Pietro? I don't think Magneto can be their father.

I'm going to "assume" that First Class is canon in the Avengers universe and Fassbender's Magneto is Wanda and Pietro's father.

It doesn't look like DOFP is going to show the present so I might be able to work that into my customized canon also.

Obviously can't happen. And they don't need to reveal who their parents are at all. That's the way it was in the comics before Magneto being their dad was retconned.

What have Fox used?

Or are both studios entitled to use both names?

I'm pretty sure they can use the names, just not refer to any X-men or mutantness. Joss introduced them as Wanda and Pietro in Assembling a Universe.

well......if Quicksilver can appear in both DOFP AND Avengers.......

then they should be able to use Magneto's name in Avengers.......

at the very least, I'd like at least a hint or acknowledgment that their father is a powerful mutant, even if they don't specifically mention Magneto.

But they can just say their mother died in childbirth and they never knew their father.

Leave it ambiguous.

I hope Fox doesn't have the exclusive rights to the word "mutant."

that's why all the Marvel properties should belong to Marvel Studios.
