This would only work if you don't mind her usage in Avengers 2 not making any sense. Which is to say, having her somehow gain spellcasting from the same genetics that give her brother superspeed? Not so much.

People accept a lot of stuff in these movies though.

Let's not forget the stuff in Thor. Even though it's meant to be "Advanced Science" there are still things like Odin speaking to Mjolnir and taking away Thor's power that certainly seem to the viewer to be magic and mysticism.

They have to get into the mystic realm soon if they're going to do Dr. Strange.

agreed. it's functional, practical, and doesn't look totally outlandish.

and now it really makes me want to see Raven in a live action Teen Titans.

I would love to see a Live Action Teen Titans Movie!

It's possible her spellcasting could open the door for Dr. Strange if it is magic based.

Imagine an after credits sequence for Avengers 2 where Fury approaches Wanda and asks her how she's coping with her powers and then introduces someone who might be able to help her with controlling them.

Enter Stephen Strange.

yes please!!

it looks like she's being restrained by some force?

First of all, knock off the attitude. Just because someone has a different theory as to what might be going on doesn't give you the right to act like a condescending a**hole. I wasn't berating your idea at all, just giving an alternative one. There's no need to jump down my throat, so back the Hell off. I'm basing my theory off of what has been CONFIRMED to exist in the MCU so far. You, on the other hand, are basing yours off of what you thing MIGHT exist in the MCU. As of yet, we have ZERO direct evidence to indicate that the brain-slot thing has ANY connection to their powers, or that the scepter can do what you're suggesting. If it's later confirmed that either of those are in fact the case, then I'll adjust my opinion accordingly. But until then, stop being a freaking jerk. It only makes you look bad, got it! Also, "the experiment" could mean any number of things beyond actually GIVING them powers. I'm not the one that's trying to make something out of nothing, I'm going by what we KNOW has happened already. YOU are the one who's speculating.
It doesn't matter if the brain slot is involved at all, I'm just giving an example of why the staff giving powers makes sense and not writing it off just because I don't want to believe the twins aren't born with powers. You're trying to come up with crap out of nowhere to deny WHAT HAPPENS ON SCREEN. It's a fact. The twins are experiments and that's what gives them powers. It's flat out all but stated in the film. Yeah I'm going to take on this tone when you accuse me of lying about something I've seen with my own two damn eyes, constantly try to twist my words into something that fits your accusation every time the subject is broached, continuously try to come up with theories to try and state why I'm wrong when what I'm saying HAPPENED, is FACT, and, again, I've seen and heard it with my own two eyes and ears. It's fact. The twins are stated to be experiments, the only to survive, their powers are shown, and while all this is going on we get a close up of Loki's scepter as if it has something to do with all of it. You can continue to deny what is FACT, that's fine with me, but don't get whiny and defensive when I call you out on blatant denial because you're accusing me of lying to people.

What you just tried to do in that post is take my example of why Loki's staff effecting powers can make sense and twist into being my whole statement that I'm trying to make into fact thus everything I'm saying is made up. LOL. I was giving an EXAMPLE, I was not saying it was fact. What I'm saying IS fact is that the twins get their powers through experimentation. This is not debatable. It is fact. Plain and simple. Period. Forget the staff, forge the brain slot; there is almost zero chance the twins do not gain their powers through the experiments HYDRA was doing. Apparently me giving plausible reasons for why this can be the case based on things we know in the MCU and the context of the scene is the same as me passing off my opinion as fact though.

I'll state it one last time, and you can keep denying it if you want to, you just make yourself look more silly in my eyes because I've actually seen it: The twins are referred to as EXPERIMENTS that are the only ones to survive them. Their powers are shown IMMEDIATELY after this as well as a close up shot of Loki's scepter. It is very clear cut and dry as to what the scene is trying to say. They are not talking about them being mind controlled, which makes absolutely no sense as an "experiment", they are talking about HOW they have powers and HOW they're the only ones to survive the process of obtaining them. This is damn near non-debatable and to try to do so is nothing but flagrant denial and refusal to accept what is. You don't have to like it, I don't even care if you accept it at this point, but don't come at me calling me a liar and that I'm making **** up and claiming to people I'm taking my opinion as fact just because YOU refuse to accept what is. Yes, I'm going to have a problem with that, and yes, if you're going to do that I will treat you as such. What I'm saying happens in the movie, it is fact whether you want to believe it or not.

Unless you're going to man up and just accept the situation for what it is so we can have a constructive conversation, I'm done debating you on something you have absolutely no ground to even discuss with me much less accuse me of lying about when you have not seen it yourself at all.

Hey everybody, come say hey to Mr. Feige himself disguised as Mr. Dent.
Hey look, this guy who hasn't seen Cap 2 who's angry at me for telling him what literally happens in the movie and claims I'm lying and making crap up because you don't like it. Please, tell me what exactly I'm making up that I've claimed as fact that isn't true and established? Please go ahead and tell me.

Pro tip: Don't bother, because you can't.

Well, Scarlet Witch is now my favorite Avenger.

I don't know why but her breasts look photoshopped in that pic lol

I really dig the look. This is sort of a mish-mash of the X-men evolutions look with a bit of the traditional SW as far as hair style and such. They may be giving her more telekinetic powers but it's clear that the fighting style is all SW and not Jean Grey. They clearly worked with her on the hand motions, that look straight out of the comics. I love that attention to detail.

Again I hope that Vision is not going to be a modified green and gold Iron Man suit. I would love to see Jarvis fully come to life as Vision in some sort of synthetic humanoid form, and they could explore a relationship with SW.

is it possible, the experiment didn't actually "give" them the powers, but "unlocked" or "accelerated" dormant powers they already had ( latent mutant gene or something )?

Which is what they're currently hinting at [BLACKOUT]with Skye on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.[/BLACKOUT]

don't follow the show. Is Skye a mutant or someone with latent powers?

"Christine, Hammer needs a slot" - Tony, IM 2 (LOL)

Again, the problem isn't people accepting magic. The problem is people accepting *spellcasting, as something gained from genetics*. To the general audience, magical spellcasting is a *learned* skill, not something Wanda could just randomly do because of the right genes.

Yes...AOS spoilers following. They revealed that SHIELD rescued Skye as a baby, and that supposedly she exhibited some sort of powers, but they were never witnessed by SHIELD. So the theory is her powers are latent.

Recently an extra-terrestrial (probably Kree) based drug that was used in part to revive Coulson was used to save Skye's life, which may or may not play a part in awakening her latent powers. The show is picking up next week with Coulson and Skye looking for answers on the drug and alien.

I still think the "Rising Tide" alluded to in AOS is a reference to Hydra, so perhaps it really is all connected, and this is laying some ground work for how Wanda and Pietro get/awaken their powers.

interesting. thanks.

I might have to start watching the show.

Why do people insist on separating the two. In the MCU, Magic = science. Even if you don't want to accept it, that's the way it is.

You're basically saying "Even though it's meant to be "Advanced Science/Magic" there are still things like Odin speaking to Mjolnir and taking away Thor's power that certainly seem to the viewer to be advanced science/magic."

No, it's more like they have to be taught how to HARNESS magic and USE it properly. For example, Harry Potter made it quite clear that the inherent ability to use magic was something that only a certain group of people possessed. That's why most of the world's population were Muggles. Of course they have to be taught how to harness it, but the latent ability is in their genetics. The same thing with LOTR, there were only a small group of wizards/elfs who could use magic in all of Middle Earth.
