Why lighten his skin? I always saw superman as being tanned since he operates mainly in the day (or is portrayed that way) and draws power from the sun. Now batman is the slightly pale one lol......

I will say that after seeing pics of Reeve when he was young compared to everyone else that has been mentioned, nobody even comes close so fitting the role. Pre-bulk or post!

As it was, I was actually refering to Scott Adkins height however, in responce to a post claiming he was 6'3", which as for as I can find on the net is not correct.

I don't think his skin color would darken or lighten from sun, or lack there of, but I could imagine him just having a bit of a tan.

Not so tan that he looks like he spends an hour in the tanning bed each day, but like what natural summer sun exposure would do for a white guy who happens to work outside with his shirt off - and that could just be superman's natural skin tone.

I do think that he would be 100% immune to sun burn however, even as a child before his powers developed, he still likely could not be sun burned as he would just be storing the energy.

I don't see a problem with his ears, and 6'3" is actually the correct height for Superman, so I don't see how he'd be "short". The only problem(same thing with Spencer Conway) is that I don't know if he can act or not.

Well, if they were to go shorter than 6 foot for Superman, then I would be in Adkin's corner all the way. He has an imposing build, has the look, but not the imposing stature due to his height. I think he is a pretty solid actor. He definitely shows a much better range of emotion and charisma on screen than Routh gave us. Yes, he is British and from what we have heard WB wants to cast an American. Just saying...if he were taller I would be all for it. Unfortunately, the height doesn't do it for me. Hmm...he would make a good Bond though. The guy can kick some serious ....

I am actually rooting on him to get the role. He was great in The Social Network (it's too early to say that he is a great actor so I'm not saying that) and he has the fun friendly feeling about him.

I haven't seen the Social network so I went to Youtube and watched various clips of Armie Hammer being interviewed or acting in movies, and if he isn't close to the top of WB's/Snyder/Nolan's contenders for the part I'd be very surprised. He does look a little young, but his stature, voice and confidence is right on the money. His jawline is a little weak, but that is really nitpicking. I didn't have a favourite for the role up to now, but if he is the one that they decide cast for Superman I'd be fine with the choice.

alright, i'm probably going to get bashed for this. but i saw this picture at a magazine store today, and he doesnt look too bad here to play the part. he's also pretty big name. he was also rumored for early incarnations of a different superman. i'm just not sure which one it was. he kind of reminds me of the birthright superman:

anyways. just thought i'd put it out there. feel free to argue and say how crazy i am lol. haha t:

He was rumored to be a WB favorite years ago along with Josh Hartnett. Personally I think it could work. It would be a huge stretch but it could potentially work. It would be hard to not think of Kelso.

I've seen Kutcher in 3 films - The Guardian, Butterfly Effect and Spread - and he was fine in all of them. I'd even go as far as to say he was pretty good in Butterfly Effect and Spread. I was very impressed with him in Butterly Effect. I actually don't mind Kutcher as an actor I used to love That 70's Show but he's not right for Superman.
