Somerhalder's an ok actor, but just don't anything about him which screams 'Superman'.

Scott Adkins was mentioned a while back. He's 34, 6"3, has done a few films but nothing major apart from perhaps playing Weapon X in the recent Wolverine movie. Great build and more of a 'classic' Superman look in the Conway/Hamm style. Plus, he's similar to Manganiello in that he has a fantastic build, but put a baggy shirt or suit on him and it totally disappears.

Not sure if he's exactly what we're looking for, but at least he has age and build on his side and I think he'd make an interesting choice.

I could see him as Superman.:woot:

Who debunked it? Not saying that it is true but the reasoning for it being false don't really jive. First you don't get an screentest unless you pass an audition, and he would know this being an actor. Also any actor who is really interested in the role would just need to contact their agency cause WB is doing a wide casting call. So I doubt any actor who is truly interested in the role would would rent, borrow, buy, film equipment and gather friends to play a hoax cause it would hurt their chances. Though it is entirely possible that this Geoff fellow has no interest in the role and is playing a really elaborate prank. Though this seems highly unlikely cause for one thing, only forum goers are really following the casting. Secondly, you have to convince friends, gather equipment, and find a Superman suit for a prank that really doesn't have an audience. Seems like a time consuming prank for just 3 pictures. They would of at least made a video or something.

did i miss something??
EDIT: Nvm, I found what it was about.

I'll give em a A for effort. But that thing screamed, "FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE!"

Can't take that Geoff Ward thing seriously, the look of the photos and people in them screams hoax. And I doubt very much any official photos would be leaked by WB at this stage.

fake or not, he looks like Superman. anyways, people keep spouting off crap about how they want the next Superman to "move away" from the Reeve look. I say bollocks to that. Reeve had the best look, so damn right the next person should have a similar or if even humanly possible, a "better" look.

Why are people so damn desperate to have someone who doesn't look like Reeve? Reeve happened to look like Superman. If they find an actor who looks similar or has a similar type of face structure, then damn right that is a good thing, not a bad thing. So get over yourselves you silly girls.

Reeve is the golden standard! Routh was very close. Don't accept anything less than a square jaw chiselled, tall beast.

We don't need any short asses for the true king of superheroes.

On the other side of the argument, I find it hard to believe that the biggest studio in the world is going to let pictures be taken at a screen test of their biggest property unless it was leaked on purpose.

Also. He might have never been interested in the project to begin with, and is just using this to pimp himself, not himself at Superman.

I would be completely shocked if this turned out to be real somehow.

i know a friend of a friend who says from a trusted source that ward is superman.

it looks like some of you are going to have to deal with it.

WB are doing a quick sexuality check on him though. if he passes the test, expect a mardi gras parade down new york central avenue as part of the celebrations.

can't wait.:awesome:

It was debunked and confirmed that he has not been called in for an audition or screen test. Ward faked it to promote his personal campaign to try to get a screen test.

He looks more like Superboy than Superman to me anyway.

So if I put a picture of myself in a Superman costume on a movie set, will people believe I got the role?

One of the pics I've seen of Ward along with a female assistant indicates that they have the same size body frame. He's looks Superboy indeed unless that female assistant is 6'4" tall :woot:

There are stupid enough people out there, yes. Particularly the ******s at Comic Book Movie.

Amen. Those guys make up crap all the time. I only believe their articles when they come from other legit sources or interviews, not "an insider".

In all fairness, it was CBM that debunked the report. They didn't originate the story.

Their "reporters" looked into it. As in "Breaking! Water is wet!" news.

Not knocking you, that site makes **** up all the time.

If one visits CBM you do so knowing that a lot of the news there is "rumor" news and generally is noted as that. Most of the articles do state that it is rumor and "take it with a grain of salt". A couple of the editors there do have some good exclusive interviews and reports from time to time. In this case, someone reported what was first reported as a rumor on the Superman Homepage site, noted that it was rumor and then updated saying one of their reporters did find out that it was not legitimate.

Some people like to debate and discuss rumors and that is a big part of what makes CBM tick.

Well it was obvious that Geoff Ward thing was a fake, and a relief. The acting in that acting reel was awful.
