I hope that you are wrong, the best of that bunch imo.

i can believe Padalecki being looked at, possibly Vogel, but not Crawford and Cassidy. I know that we heard that the cap contenders could be looked at, but i can't believe that thos guys could. could be wrong of course.

I'll keep an open mind. If they told us in 2001 that Ledger would be an awsome Joker nobody would've believed it. We don't know until which degree those actors can transform themselves into something iconic given the right direction and the right means.

I was going by who i think they would look

But to tell you the truth if there is a Manganiello on that list, i can't believe there would a Hammer, they just don't compute at all physically. I would think that the casting director would have some kind of pattern in mind (but then again John Krasinski has nothing to do with Chris Evans :D ;) )

And imo it's even more of a stretch for those actors. i can't believe at those guys at all, Ledger factor or not :o:woot: (and personnaly i could see it with Ledger ) even more, imo, they are not half the actor he was and i don't think that we can transform enough their features a la Joker to make anyone believe that they could be superman. Reeve was lightweight physically when they cast him, but you could see the potential.

maybe you're right that said ;)

I discard him for more than just his chin; I just agree with those who say his chin isn't defined/masculine enough.:o

Your post was ironic considering someone discarded Joe M for the same reasons you discard Hammer (nitpicking on a part of the face + acting ability)...I say it so that you don't get pissed if someone makes the same "crazy" comment to you. You've earned it with that post...:o

Here are a couple of the most recent shots of Joe M.:

What I meant is that Ledger was in the same position as those guys in 2000. Just another pretty boy for posters in teen girls' rooms. And man, was everybody wrong...:cwink:

Hmm, his acting already had been noticed (Brockeback Mountain? ), even flicks not all that great .

Not really. Hammer doesn't look like Superman at all. In the chin, nose, eyes, eyebrows, hair, etc. Only one manip has made him look like a decent looking Clark. Big whoop, he's tall and was cast as Batman, never played him, in the failed/shelved JLA movie.
And I know I'm in the minority of not liking his "acting" in The Social Network, and I'm fine with that.

I've actually given more reason than why I disliked his acting and look as opposed to just some throwaway complaint about his "nose being too big/weird/whatever" like some here have done.

From what we were told before, Cassidy and Crawford were discussed at WB during one point or another.

You're putting way to much stock in casting directors, characters like Superman, Captain America, and other such characters are larger than life. The search for such a character doesn't follow your usual pattern.

For instance, all those actors involved with Captain America at one point or another, the director and casting director were going back and forth on... The studio didn't love the direction it was going, so they said ok we're offering it to both Evans and Tatum. Evans took it.

You can bet your bottom dollar that the studio, Nolan, and Snyder are heavily involved in the casting. More of the tilt going to the studio than any other character of recent memory.

Brokeback is 2005. I meant even before that. Try more like A Knight's Tale or The Patriot.

Well he had some nice notices for a knight's tale, monster's balls and even a badly recieved movie like candy.(edit; ok this one is from 2006 ;) )

and i thought reading that you were that people didn't saw anything in hom before his joker turn.

but anyways, we're a little of topic, let's drop it ;)

Majik and I agree about something! I don't see Hammer as Supes at all based on the looks department. With Joe, we can say he has the physically imposing build and stature, hair color and style, the chin, jawline, strong but kind eyes and strong features. What can we say about Hammer that gives him that "Superman look"?

I guess I was in a minority as I was excited about Ledger getting cast as the Joker.

I find Joe to be a very solid actor from what I have seen as of late. He's between that 28-32 age range that has been mentioned as the target. Book him Danno!

Holy crap, now it's two things!

Is it just me or is there a facial difference in these manips?

http://img21.imageshack.us/i/manofsteel.jpg/

The only facial change done to Joe in this photo, so far as I can tell, is the dent on the left side of his nose (right side in pictures) was filled in.

That IS something a hollywood makeup crew would do for him in the film anyway however.

Other than that blue eyes and haircut were obviously done.

I do manips, but cannot take credit for the above.

That other manip is a picture with a costume literally painted with photoshop onto him, and his face is leaner in that picture too, with short hair and 10 days facial hair growth. Not the picture I would have used to manip, nor the changes I would have made, but someone obviously put a lot of work into it.

joe does'nt look a thing like superman either so i dont see how it can go one way but not the other

the difference between them is joe looks older because he is about 12 years older and has more muscle both are same height

sorry i dont he does'nt have the good guy vibe about him he is better inclined to play bad guy he has that aura about him

he is a little too italian too lol it is too noticeable i look at him and picture him working at his father autoshop in the bronx LOL

he also just has this high school jock look to him which s why he was fine as flash Thompson

You really don't see it?

Really?

He looks more like TAS Batman there. And with the lighter weight he has now he even looks more of a sinister character rather than Superman. Doesn't have the friendly appearance IMO. Too thuggish.

I don't see anything sinister or thuggish about the images on the prior page. From what I have seen of his interviews he looks to be very friendly. I guess it depends on what image you look at and what context he is in. A good actor should be able to look sinister or look like a nice guy. Funny how people can see things so differently.
