My only deal with Joe is that he just looks like a guy who makes pizzas in Italy. I mean u can tell hes the FOOK YOUS..IGHT!! type...now he didnt look so italian in spider-man...so if they can recreate that then ill think hell actually look ok.

On video his nose comes off more normal.
i haven't seen him act, but i've seen a couple of interviews and i gotta say that his nose is still bothersome. it's not as daunting as in stills, but it's still gives him an unfriendly look. very nice guy, but he has an unfortunate nose. that being said, the filmmakers might be able to look past his nose and judge him based on everything else.....but as a professional artist, i can't get passed his nose.

Some of you guys have been going on for like, 10 pages about a dude's nose.

Wow.

Yeah but have you SEEN his nose? But really, I can't accept a Superman that was once Flash Thompson. Call me crazy.

i've only mentioned his nose the 2 posts i've even mentioned the guy. it wouldn't be brought up if it weren't a problem.

If you can't except him playing a superhero because he was in another superhero film for like three minutes I don't know how you will be able to except Ryan Reynolds (Blade Trinity, Wolverine) as Green Lantern or Chris Evans (Fantastic Four 1,2) as Captain America.

Well his Nose would be a dead give away as Clark to Superman they would be like...
Dude, you look like Superman with glasses LOL or whats your nose pointing at.
or is that a banana on your face or are you just happy to see me.
LOL sorry I'm just having fun.

Video is different in than photos. In motion it looks a lot less manacing.

If its really an issue, being that we are talking about millions$, he could always get it fixed. That kind of surgery can be done over a weekend.

Not that he even needs it. See at least a few vids of his acting, its a lot less noticable in motion than in photos.

Makeup artists can also do a couple tricks to hide things. Not by slapping on a lot of puddy or anything crazy, rather just a touch of shading here or there, draws the attention away from it.

There there is also the art of camera angles, and yes this is a big deal for EVERY actor.

Any Cinematographer worth his salt is VERY aware of what angles make an actor look best, and which ones to avoid. ALL actors have bad and good angles, and there is an art to filming them to look best for the given role.

IMO there are quite a few actors that look better in motion then they do in still photographs. If Joe did get the role I would hope he would not even consider a nose job just because some fans don't feel he has the correct nose of a drawing. I will say I think Joe has a great look but from what I've seen of him on True Blood his acting doesn't seem to be any better then Routh's which I know some people had a problem with so unless I see an improvement over the rest of the season I wouldn't want him for the role.

It's funny because there are those complaining about the nose that are promoting the wimpy, metrosexual actors for Superman saying they can use lifts, camera angles, etc. to make them look bigger. It's much easier to fix up the bridge of a nose on someone than doctor up the whole body. Just saying...

Naughty.

you know what? Who really cares about his height when Robert Downey Jr is wearing 5 inch heels when he's in Tony Stark mode.

Routh was wearing heels to get to 6'4 and people still thought that looked silly on the costume.

I like Hamm more than Levi and Manganiello, mainly because Hamm is universally accepted as awesome... and quite popular

But Hamm's age and height are negatives to me..

WB is looking at this as a ONE-SHOT Superman film according to Showtime. This worries me.

If there's sequels or a "Justice League," I'm worried they'll recast the role AGAIN. -_-

Maybe they will just "rush" this movie to keep the rights, and maybe start a trilogy later

ugh....

So far, I don't see any evidence that they're rushing anything since Winter 2012 is quite way; they would have to film at least by Winter 2011 to get a decent schedule. Heck a Spring or Summer 2011 production start would be a blessing.

Think about this: X-Men: First Class starts filming in Sept and it's being release in June. Now that's rushing.

As long as the casting isn't rushed.

I want a nation-wide search like they did last time. It's expensive but well worth it.

I'm sure they will have one and its up to the Nolan and WB to find the right Superman. With the Nolans there, WB won't screw it up, I'm sure.

Good for Think McFy Think.

Any news or rumors on this sucker is welcomed. But it's sooo early in the production that anything can and will happen. But if the Hamm Train keeps on a-moving as the months go by, then it can only further cement the rumor.

Who knows, they might announce the Superman news anything time now, along with Batman.

A one shot Superman film? Why? I guess they don't have that much faith in Superman anymore. :csad: I mean I'm sure if it does at least Iron Man or Iron Man 2 well they'll want to make sequels. But I guess we should be grateful that we're getting one period cause of a possible lawsuit. :word:

I'm thinking that they want to approach this as one story, one film with no set up for a sequel...meaning they'll maximize their efforts and not hold back on scope.

Trust me, if this film does 300 domestically and 600 worldwide, WB's greenlighting another Superman film. That's pretty much a given.

No doubt, similar to what Nolan did with Batman Begins. He didn't assume it would do well enough to get sequels. :word: How much did Star Trek make? Was it more than Iron Man 2?
