I quite like that one Inside; I think it looks pretty well done

Thank you for the positive comment

I have to be honest though!

The amount of times ive seen people go completely nuts over mediocre work on here saying its the best manip theyve ever seen just annoys me!

Im a professional digital artist

The above image is some of the highest quality work in this thread yet it always gets ignored or 'quite liked'

Sorry rant over#

Thanx again

Eh, it happens. The joy surely is in doing the work and not so much about getting recognized.

But as I said before, I this could be the actual poster and I'd really be satisfied with it. I don't get the molded look of the Symbol

However with some creative thinking I'm sure it could have a good explanation.

The concept is the complete disintergration and rusting of the bat symbol!

The metal peeling away and crumbling

Right, I got that (in some part of my brain)

But what does that have to do with the plot of the movies? Not saying it doesn't just that I haven't pieced that together

Conceptually speaking though, it doesn't make a lot of sense in regards to a film about Batman Rising from the situation he's in. We saw the whole breaking the bat apart thing represented symbolically in TDK in dozens of marketing pieces. Granted, it probably took a lot of work and it shows, you should be proud of that, but again conceptually it's not incredibly imaginative and that's probably why it hasn't gotten as much attention as you'd have liked. Just my two cents.

Batman is on the run

His reputationin tatters, his life crumbling, a wanted and hunted man

What did the shattering bat symbol have to do with the dark knight?

Chaos, violence!

And you're going to have the symbol in this one represent the same themes? I'm sorry, but it's redundant.

This takes the theme further!

Dark knight showed the chaos, This shows the aftermath, the ruin of whats left!

Really? I actually think it's REALLY REALLY good. Teaser posters aren't often imaginative. He took the theme from the last two films.

to be honest, the BB logo wasn't imaginative but, it worked.

I managed to come up with a plot explanation for the peeling metal.

*ahem*

Batman started in this rusted armor (BB) the start, the beginning , then in TDK it started to all Fall apart but, he managed to survive, and in TDKR with Inside's poster, the metal is peeling off, getting to the heart of Batman; ripping the armor, the dark knight inside the shell.

The man, the soul, the flesh, rising above the shell he's put himself in

Now that you've explained it that does make more sense, thanks! I don't exactly agree with it (due to the titling, it should be about Batman being restored, not showing his remains), but now you've explained what it's trying to convey I'd be content with something like that.

Granted Darkhunt, this isn't the same idea Inside suggested. I looked at it and just thought of that but, you could give me any image and I could put rhetoric around it.

Either way, I stand by this poster itself; I think it's very nice for a teaser

WHY WHY WHY does my work always get buried? Noone ever comments on it

Do i just have to keep posting it until someone comments

Comment.

Here's my comment: the colour and the lighting between the background and the foreground do not match. Also, the blending seems quite amateurish. I don't mean to be a dick, I'm just telling you what to improve on since you were begging for attention. :whatever:

Probably the best concept for the logo I've seen yet, or at least my second favourite to the white-city one. But this one makes the most sense in regards to the other two. You know with the whole "fire rises" thing going on.

I have to applaud your tenacity and your honesty too, I do feel people praise a lot of mediocre work here, I can only imagine how that makes a professional digital artist feel. Looking forward to seeing more from you.

And you are?!

Evidently you do
Mean to be a dick! The lighting is fine! The dark clouds are meant to be just that dark background! The foreground lighting is just that, spotlight on the logo! Light is never the same in the background and foreground of an image! You nitpicking to prove a point and put me down!

The blending is FAR from amateurish! How about telling me exactly what is badly blended?!

A little suggestion to inside if he doesn't mind:

Perhaps under the peeling metal there can be a glimmer of something pristine and grand. A sharp silver, clean Bat symbol, don't show it totally, just give a hint of it. I think that'll fit with the Title and tone of the films

If you put out work and only wanting good criticism, then you are a bit delusional.

If you put out work and not expect criticism then you are a bit delusional.

I don't think that's the case. The comment he replied to is clearly trying to be sarcastic and "rattle his cage"

Can we look at his work and forget his words? It's a GREAT Manip, we shouldn't ignore it because of egos and the need to tear another person's ego down.

That poster, is great and I'd only suggest what I've already said and Hardy's name before JGL

First off, I think most contributors here realise that the finished products they post are not 100% aesthetically professional. We praise them, I think more so, for their concepts and their ideas.

What some folk lack in photoshop skills they make up for with their imagination and their ability to communicate their idea despite their technical shortcomings.

Yes, your 'teaser' looks quite professional - well done.

If it's good enough, most of the time it will get noticed. But a big Bat symbol on a cloud background is hardly going to drop my jaw no matter how bloody slick it is.

How is that any different than:

or

31XEX.jpg

He said it's a TEASER poster and frankly I think that's how we've been given the teasers so far.

Edit: though I agree with all your comments before my bolded portion

Sequels are about evolution. It's meant to be different, and fancier than what Begins did.

They didn't exactly impress me either so what? He's made a nice teaser poster, which we can all see, and then thrown an ego fit and insulted the posters in this fine thread because we didn't respond as if Jesus had woken up and crapped Gold coins live on the BBC.

Fancy is not always evolution.

The evolution is in the actual meaning of the visual no?

BB: Rusted Symbol

TDK: white symbol

Not much fancy happening but, in TDK it was being broken apart...that MEANS something; its not just it looks pretty. If topping the aesthetics from last time was the goal TDK would have had a dramatically different scheme for its logo.

If what is being conveyed in the visuals in terms of a subjective "meaning" evolves and gives you a tone, story, morals then the mission is served, no?
