They didn't exactly impress me either so what?
Please don't be combative with me for pointing out a fact.

I didn't say you had to like them, just that they're just as imaginative as official products for this series.

He's made a nice teaser poster, which we can all see, and then thrown an ego fit and insulted the posters in this fine thread because we didn't respond as if Jesus had woken up and crapped Gold coins live on the BBC.

Like I said, Inside has an ego based on his post but, does that taint his artwork?

Fancy is not always evolution.

The evolution is in the actual meaning of the visual no?

BB: Rusted Symbol

TDK: white symbol

Not much fancy happening but, in TDK it was being broken apart...that MEANS something; its not just it looks pretty. If topping the aesthetics from last time was the goal TDK would have had a dramatically different scheme for its logo.

If what is being conveyed in the visuals in terms of a subjective "meaning" evolves and gives you a tone, story, morals then the mission is served, no?

Yes, absolutely as a teaser it works fine. As a piece of work that's supposed to put the rest of the ideas in this thread to shame? No way.

And you are?!

Evidently you do
Mean to be a dick! The lighting is fine! The dark clouds are meant to be just that dark background! The foreground lighting is just that, spotlight on the logo! Light is never the same in the background and foreground of an image! You nitpicking to prove a point and put me down!

The blending is FAR from amateurish! How about telling me exactly what is badly blended?!
Alright pipe down and listen tight. I've been posting on these boards for over five years now, posting manips the entirety of that time too; in all my days of posting here I've been slammed for my work - been told to "kill myself" because of how bad it was. Granted, this poster you made isn't as bad as my first posters, but it isn't as incredible as you're trying to make it up to be, and the only way to get better is if you receive constructive criticism. I didn't say "it sucks", it's not a bad manip - there's room for improvement and I commented on the areas you could use the improvement. I told you the flaws and if you want to get better, you can head my advice and fix it - instead of asking me how better to blend it, it's up to you to figure that out. I'm telling you why it's standing out from looking official, but alas if you want to remain on cloud nine that's your call.

If you put out work and only wanting good criticism, then you are a bit delusional.
Exactly.

I don't think that's the case. The comment he replied to is clearly trying to be sarcastic and "rattle his cage"

Can we look at his work and forget his words? It's a GREAT Manip, we shouldn't ignore it because of egos and the need to tear another person's ego down.

That poster, is great and I'd only suggest what I've already said and Hardy's name before JGL
No, it wasn't just to rattle his cage. It was a reality check. It doesn't look professional. Of the hundreds of posters and manips I've done, I can only admit to a few of them actually looking official, and those posters were only after I became certified as a graphic designer. Look, I'm giving him constructive input on what I've seen in my field of work, but if you guys want to be in your euphoric state of mind, avoiding the taboo of constructive criticism, I will not succumb to it.

The poster is good, but it could still be better.

I personally hate that it follows the diluted teal/orange cliche. :csad:

While it is well done, I just don't really like the design. While the decay is the point it just looks rather messy.

And for the record at least in my own useless horribly uninformed opinion, it is not anywhere near the best work that has been posted in the hundreds of fanart/manip pages or the suit thread for that matter.

btw this past weekend I went to Con-tamination 2001: The Sequel in St. Louis and look what I found on sale for 25 bucks:

The guy was selling a bunch of Avengers manips that I know for a fact originated here on the hype as well.

Why does this not surprise me that this happened in St. Louis :whatever: Did you call the guy out on it?

I had planned to but there was a ton of people milling around, I couldn't tell who was actually running the booth.

That's alright, I was just wondering. But man, selling that for $25, what a d**k. I hope no one bought one.

I forget who's but it was on here a while back. I'm prett sure its in Batman-news's gallery, and Chris would have definitely given credit. I'll check.

Whoa looks like that guy needs a batarang to his face to wake him up a bit, teach him not to steal peoples work to make money, that's bad karma man just plain bad.

That's awful. It's a shame people do things like that.

That's really a shame, I don't "love" that manip but it's really good and to some general public could possibly pass as official.

Looks like something Kalmart did. Similar thing happened before TDK with a fan poster too. That's why I hide watermarks in all of my work.

THATS INSANE!

Theres a Six Flags out here in Nor. California that has had a banner in its giftshop for TDK and it has SO many SHH manips its insane, i just went back last week and it was still hanging....:whatever:

Well, from now on I guess it's best to put your artist's signature on the manips. Personally, for my art, if I put it up on the internet I'll put my signature close or on the side of the character/object I'm drawing, just small enough to miss on first glance but large enough that you won't need a magnifying glass to prove it.
I was in the Harford Mall in Belair, MD where they had a sports collectable and baseball card expo, someone was selling an Avengers manip with Renner as Hawkeye and such for 20$.

those bane and catwoman manips aren't bad but blending Joker out of the backround could be done alot better and smoother.
