The Lizard would be amazing for a villian.
1. Would depicting Dr. Connors as a main character be a problem because of how Otto Octavius was changed to be more "Connors-like" in SM2?
-Similar, but i believe they can make great story for Lizard that differenciates Doctor Octopus.
2. What's up with that "I'm a physicist, not a biologist." line from Connors in SM3?
-i dont know what to say about this
3. Since a Lizard vs Kraven vs Spidey storyline is used in the Sony SM3 video game, does that mean that there's now less chance of it being used in an actual movie?
-if thats the case only villains we can get are Rhino, Electro, Hobgoblin and Carnage.
4. How should the Lizard's transformation and possible cure be handled in a film version?
-not sure
5. What secondary villain, if any, should be featured with the Lizard?
-personally, i want Shocker. Or maybe Carnage.
I'm not so into the whole Kraven and Lizard storyline.
Did, Heroes, beat them to it...
With this whole, Monhinder’s transformation storyline
Still a similar premise, even going back to The Fly, with the over-eager scientist using his own ass as a guinea pig...Not really, whats going on with Mohinder is more reminiscent of The Fly
Agreed, great examples there. Knowing how Sam works, I sure trust him with it. I mean, just look at Green Goblin's, Doc Ock's, Venom's, Sandman's, etc, creations and it proves how great Sam has made them.IMO I think if Raimi Incorporates the best storylines of Curt Conners / The Lizards from the comics . Similar to how both John Semper (Spider-Man : The Animated Series - "Night of The Lizard") & Greg Weisman [The Spectacular Spider-Man -"Natural Selection" ) did . Would work out well in a live action film .
but he totally screwed with Sandman and Venom, imo.
no...Raimi DID IT. it is HIS fault. he was the one who helped write the story and the one who made the big decisions for the movie. he was the one who conducted the movie. a director MUST KNOW what he is doing, MUST KNOW how to work with what he got and above all MOST KNOW what he wants. a good director isn't influenced by no one. he knows exactly what to do. if Raimi isn't capable of doing that, then he isn't as great as we'd thought he was or should be for this movie and for the next. Arad heard the fans. you'd think sometime ago that this is a rare quality. he knew what the fans wanted, and most of us were moaning for Venom. Venom was done excellently well in the 90's series and in the Spectacular SM. you'd think that a director from great movies like him would be greater than directors of cartoons and would know how to make a character right and give him justice. No he didn't Avi Arad did . Raimi original version of Spidey 3 was to have Sandman & The Vulture as Villains.
what? making him a good hearted "villain"? making him have a stupid connection with Peter just for the sake of connections? killing Uncle Ben ruining a classic story? keeping transforming him all the time in Sandmonster instead of giving Thomas Hayden Church some chance to act? "I'm not a bad, I just had bad luck."Raimi's overall did the best he could with Sandman.
yeah, you just repeated what I said with different words. HE screwed Venom and HE screwed Sandman.however since he didn't understand the character of Eddie Brock / Venom. He kinda messed it up .
HE screwed Venom and HE screwed Sandman.
this is no thread for SM3's misfortunes. let's get back on topic.
^^ Lol, I'm not sure. I loved S-M3, but I think Avi Arad will try something big this time if he was involved, so I'm kinda glad he's not back.Wait, Arad's out of the picture?
When was this announced??t:
I'm thinking a bit of both mashed togeather because I'm sure Sam and James want to put their own ideas in there, but also bring in elements from the source material.. I'm also hoping to here him say what comic books of Spidey's inspired his story, or do you all think he'll come up with his own story arc?

Then let us hope that James Vanderbilt wants his script to stand out from the previous films, molded into something totally different with great new ideas, yet keeps its continuity.
exactly. "sometimes". sometimes, because the director just isn't strong enough to say "no, that's what will happen and that's how it will be". a director must know what he is doing. that's what defines a strong director from the weak ones. You do know that the director isn't the boss of the films and doesn't have his own say sometimes, right?
Sandman could have been a much better villain than what they portrayed. No he didn't Avi Arad did . Raimi original version of Spidey 3 was to have Sandman & The Vulture as Villains .

But now that Avi Arad is no longer in the picture . I believe Raimi will Redeem himself with The Lizard .
Unfortunately, all 5 of the villains from these films could have been portrayed better. The more they cater to children with these films, the weaker the movie becomes, especially for the villains.Sandman could have been a much better villain than what they portrayed.
