Am I of if I suspect that a lot of the reactions to the costumes, si much the same as the reaction to Superman having a cape and underwear?

Ethnocentrism?

It's from antoher world, it should look strange for us mere humans :P

I liked it.

Best moments:

The battles and figths.

"I need a horse!"

Loki on earth.

The idiots in the teather shut the projector down in the middle of the aftercredits scene. Does anyone is kind enough to tell me
what was on the suitcase
???

I had the good idea of walking out before watching the after credits scene which I’m sure was, as usual, saying that the villiain is not actually defeated and that the Avengers movie is coming.

2.5 / 5

:whatever:

It seems moi and most viewers and critics so far don't agree with Payasito. And yes, Thor is better than SR. ;)

Definitely, one of the best superhero movies ever, Kenneth Branagh & co did a wonderful job.

I really don't know what some of the posters from this website who have seen Thor were expecting from it. To me, the movie sounds like it delivered what it was suppose to deliver.

loki was real sharp in a suit tho when he was on earth. that he tried to lift the hammer was a nice character moment aswell.

After seeing the negatives people throw up on here its clear to see some people will never be happy!
I study film fx and think they did a great job with the budget they were given.

And she’s supposed to be the reason as to why Thor matures!

Personally, I thought, combined with Foster, the main reason Thor turns around, is actually
Loki's story about how his actions basically killed Odin, and that his banishment is all that's stopping the war - That kind of news to an intrinsically good person (no matter how arrogant) can definitely bring the person 'down to earth' ;) To me, that was the real 'meat' to him realizing his past behaviour was wrong.

It was a bit rushed I agree, but I certainly never thought Foster was the only reason he changed... However, I also agree that their relationship wasn't the most powerful I've seen.

Or maybe some otherwise happy people just have a different opinion/viewpoint/standards to film fx-studying you ;)

Hi everyone. Can those who've seen the movie give a estimate of how long Thor flies?

Hmmmmm.... not long since he flies so fast. But he does it a few times...and he does it enough so you don't miss it.

Oh man, this film is so awesome! I loved it from start to finish. Thor is a very hard character to play without coming off cheesy, camp or over the top & I was surprised how great Hemsworth was in the different scenarios. Any doubts about him measuring up to RDJ are now out the window. His Thor will be Stark's equal in the Avengers film.

Loki was a good, conflicted & appropriately mischievious villain. Had to feel sorry for the guy at stages but I'll be happy to see Hiddleston pulling the strings in Avengers. Anthony "phone it in" Hopkins was supreme as Odin & his relationship with Thor throughout the film was one of the elements I enjoyed most.

Any film without Natalie Portman is severely disadvantaged, 'nuff said. Kat Dennings I was expecting to get super annoyed by judging from the trailer, but she was fine & pretty funny. Certainly worth having around. The Warriors 3, Sif & Frigga all played their part but were slightly underused. Not a problem though as there were much bigger bastards to focus on! Oh & Heimdall, bloody hell. He was so awesome that even
Loki couldn't bear to destroy him after freezing him.

Every event & word spoken on Jotunheim was just too cool & the Frost Giants were beautiful. Asgard was well rendered & I loved all the scenes from this section of the film. The earth scenes were more surprisingly also very entertaining. Cool to see SHIELD continue to do their thing & overlap with previous films without being obtrusive to Thor's plot.

I thought the action was epic (especially the opening scenes) & well constructed making good use of Thor's various powers. In fact, if there's going to be a Thor Vs Hulk fight based on the power levels of the two Marvel Studio films, then Hulk's not really going to get a chance to play the good guy :(

By the film's end Thor has proven his worth as a genuine hero with some very brave & selfless deeds
Facing Destroyer as a human with no powers. Saving his enemies even though it would mean he never sees his woman again.
Overall, while semi-aware of my habit of making ridiculous statements while on euphoric highs, I'm confident that I enjoyed Thor a little more than my other favourite comic-films such as X-Men 2, Spider-man 2, Iron Man & Batman Begins (not quite TDK yet).

Great job guys!

From what I've read here, it's overwhelmingly positive.

No movie can please everyone though.

Going to see Thor again on Thursday, except this time in 3D. I do hope Thor's box office takings exceed what Marvel is expecting. It deserves to have a franchise :)

Yeah, as I said it was quite predictable this was going to be the average Marvel movie. Great action, nice acting, loads of terrible jokes and a poor love interest/love story to fill with.

So it delivered what it promised but one can always expect something better, specially with Kenneth Branagh directing. He has directed some of the most famous and solid romantic stories (Shakespeare anyone?) and yet here the love story was terribly poor.

Even so I did say that most of time it was "better than the average superhero movie Marvel has been developing for the last 3 or 4 years."

Btw, the fx were absolutely great. That alone doen't make a good movie sadly.

Yes, [BLACKOUT]his banishment[/BLACKOUT] was a big part of it, but I didn't see Thor changing his behaviour untill Foster started to tell him so. And well, it was very poor, the only case of a poorer love story I've seen was in Abrams' Star Trek when all of a sudden Uhura was in love with Spock. And she kissed him. End of the development of the story. WTF.

heh particularly some fans. :D

See this is why I am glad I am not as bigger geek as some of you ;)

X-Men, Hulk, Iron Man and Thor are all super hero's who I know a bit about but hardly anything in depth. I think this helped me enjoy the films more as I couldn't nit pick at the changes. Conversely...with Spider-Man, who I know a lot about, when I saw the films I was fuming. It took a lot of watches before I came to love them and could accept the changes.

Depending on how you interpret it, they were already in a relationship and he didn't want to appear to show favouritism at the Academy by placing her on the Farragut. Of course, he had also lost his homeworld and she wanted to comfort him.

Totally off topic, but whatever.

1) Uhura and Spock had been an item for some time before the events of the movie. It wasn't just "all of a sudden".

2) Having your home planet destroyed and your species reduced to near extinction tends to put the kibosh on your romantic notions. Spock and Uhura's relationship wasn't as critical as Spock overcoming all the crap life suddenly threw at him.

I liked it.

It was the cosmic cube. I'm also curious as to why they didnt show the Infinity Gauntlet in the film, unless I blinked and missed it.
