ok Just got back from the special screening of the 3D. I thought the 3D was fine, really not as bad as it was in Tron.
My biggest gripe is the lack of the speech in my banner below. THAT says and covers alot IMO.
It does seem alittle choppy at the beginning, seems to jump too quickly in spots, no fading from shot to shot.

Other than that, I liked it VERY much and many of the audience did too. They laughed at the right spots.
We had alittle over 120 people in the theater from Dr. Pepper and Walmart venders.

Again people, the 3d wasn't bad at all, Wasn't AMAZING either tho and we saw it on a regular screen not Imax. Didn't hear ANY complaints of headaches either. :D

I give it a 9/10.

awesome...so glad about 3d being not a problem....
now i can watch IMAX 3d without any worries

DS I would LOVE to see it on an IMAX in 3d! I do kind of wish it were stereo scopic cameras tho. There were a couple scenes that did look cut out images, but, it's better than what some people are saying.

Not trying to change your mind or opinion Vartha, but if I liked something very much, it's not getting a 9. Anything I liked (even very much) doesn't even earn an 8 from me!
I gave it 7, yes because I too liked it very much :woot:! Glad you enjoyed it though.

Edit: I've always used my school marks and parents' reaction the same way with films. If I came home with 90%, my parents didn't like me, they LOVED me hehehe

When will you watch it again, Vartha?:woot:

heh the DVD WILL get a 10 from me with the scenes that were cut.

Do you mind voting in the new "What was your favorite fight scene" thread I created Vartha?

I'm definitely going to take the time to post my review in this thread tomorrow night.

Michael Phillips (whose reviews I like a lot) gave it 3 out of 4!

Michael Phillips is another "big gun" I respect and even says he's not a fan and "tired" of comic book films but really liked the film.

"At this point in the Marvel Comics-derived superhero cycle, audiences can be forgiven for feeling a tad worn out, both for reasons of quality and quantity. My rear end's thor just thinking about how many more we have coming. Yet sometimes a product exceeds expectations."

I can't even imagine anyone tiring of greatness regardless of genre but at least he was honest with himself and us.

Off to see it with an audience for a midnight showing now.

um...i just came from the midnight showing and...I F****IN LOVED IT. Mind you, this is coming from someone who was never that big on Thor, and i thought the movie was VERY well done. On par with or possibly greater than Ironman 1. The acting (Chris Hemsworth IS Thor), the storytelling, the drama, the action, it was all there. Captain America is going to have a hard time topping this. 9.5/10

:awesome: :awesome: :awesome: :awesome: :awesome: / 5

It is the best marvel movie so far (I loved them all) - though iron man doesn't lag behind.

I really enjoyed this flick. Had such a grand and epic feel to it. Definitely the most unique comic book movie to come out.

The only thing that really bothered me was the completely ridiculous amounts of product placement. SHIELD agents on the roof eating Burger King, when the SHIELD cars drive off the camera clearly pans to the Acura logo, the clearly visible Budweiser logo, the ****ing massive 7-Eleven on display, ugh...

Otherwise, I really didn't have any problems with it. I was thoroughly entertained and the SHIELD portions of the movie didn't feel forced compared to Iron Man 2.

Just watched the midnight showing. This movie was essentially a great introduction to the character: Thor for dummies like myself, who's only read JMS' run on the book. The cast was fantastic, and the chemistry between Thor and Jane was apparent. Loki is already one of the best comic villains ever. Hemsworth as Thor was simply badass. I don't think the action ever tops the early frost giant battle, but the later fights seem more character oriented. Didnt really care much for the Hawkeye cameo, to be honest. It was...nice seeing him, but it wasnt really needed.

8/10. I appreciate that this movie wasnt the same type of origin story we've been getting this past decade.

Just got back and I enjoyed this movie. I was concerned because the trailers I've seen didnt show his signature power movies but they were almost all there. Twirling Mjolnir was f'n awesome...and he does fly which I liked.

I just walked through the door, I LOVED IT!!!:awesome::up: FREAKING AWESOME movie and the after credits scene was perfect, I can't wait to see it again on Sunday with friends, 9.5/10!!! :thor::up:

Loved it!!!!! Got chills when I saw "Thor will return in The Avengers"

I want to reserve my seat in Hall H now for Comic Con.
