First Class is going to clearly do more overseas than domestically.

X4? Emma is like 50 years in the past of the current Xmen. They made her a peer of Xavier and Magneto. What, Helen Miran is gonna show up in X4 as Emma? I think it was a missed opportunity not setting up X4 with the Hellfire club.

How do you know it is not setting up for X4 ? We know what Hellfire club is. Perhaps Magento, Mystique and Angel moved on, while Emma, Azazel and Riptide stay and build even bigger Hellfire Club.

I'm hoping and predicting that this will be a "Batman Begins" scenario and it's very much starting to look like one as the days go by.

Hopefully Fox will be smart enough to identify it as such and doesn't make some ridiculous move in trying to make a rushed, ****** Wolverine movie. That will not help the "X-Men" franchise.

They need to build up on what they made here because it was truly something special. The build up for the sequel and the potential is there.

Well originally Sigourney Weaver was going to play White Queen in X3...so I think Singer always intended to have White queen be a old board.

Also...She's a telepath. Even if she was old she would use her powers to make everyone THINK she looked young and beautiful.

I wonder how hard it would be to make some changes to the X-Men trilogy to match First Class ? Remove some lines maybe & change the date on some scenes etc. I wonder if a fan will do a fan edit

No no no man, I totally agree. I agree some alterations are fine
and that scene is a good example
of one. The way from the comics
should never see the light of day in
the movies. Xavier thwarting the plans of an alien named Lucifer? Um he!! no. I'm all for changes if it makes the story more adaptable for the big screen. Unfortunately their was a lot of bad in terms of history and continuity in FC and a
lot of it was too much for me to
just ignore. FC is a good film but I can not in good conscience as a fan say it was a good Xmen movie. It wasn't

Yeah, there is no connection whatsoever between source material faithfulness and a film's value and merit. However, for the viewer, this aspect is entirely different.

If through Thursday it keeps doing 5 Million a day then by time Super 8 Is out it collected 75 Million domesticly.And by end of weekend we have 100 Million Domesticly.
It Imrpoves cahnces for sequel if First Class can hold off Super 8.

Man don't put words in my mouth that I never said. Go find that post, I dare you too. I never said I was angry or against the way they depicted what happened to him in FC. I think I commented on it and said it was fine but I also was complaining about some other change as I recall in the post. I also posted that a guy in front of me spoke out and said that's not the way that happened. No way in the world have I ever thought since the beginning of this franchise that they should put that Lucifer/alien crap in a movie. Like I also said the Shiar and that space stuff and M'Kraan Crystal should never be done. I wasn't even reading Xmen back then, heck I'm pretty sure I wasn't even born. I already said that event was a change in the movie that I didn't mind and it makes for better adapting the comic to the big screen. Same thing with tweaking Shaw's powers, it made them more visually interesting. I did say Bacon did a good job and the best X villian in my opinion but despite that I didn't care much for making Shaw more Sinister and Magneto and I thought the Hellfire Club was a joke. They may as well have left out the mention on the club because it came across as reference and an easter egg or name drop for fans and nothing more. It was mentioned once. Read Man Read!!!

And Super 8 is starting screenings tomorrow to get WOM out for the weekend. It will be interesting to see how that works out.

He's probably one of the most diverse guys in the buisness. Just look at his TV shows. Even his movies are all different genres.

Tim Burton and Speilberg has a "schtick." So far it's too early to say that about Abrams...IMO.
