The Dark Knight Rises The Opening Sequence.

i really really really hope the opening scene is bane and not catwoman.its the difference between having batmans most dangerous enemy open the final movie and a thief he finds both attractive and a nuisance.

no need to argue which would be the better one cinematically.

Batman and Robin running towards the camera... with Alfred in the background singing:
"Nananananananananananananana BATMAN!"
:brucebat:

But on a serious note, I'd love Bane in a prison break. Would be visually great if done correctly.

If they want a prison break scene, it has to be the opening sequence. Otherwise, don't have it at all. I feel like it will lose its magic if it's not the opening sequence.

I am getting the feeling that the opening scene will be the introduction of the new Batmobile in a spectacular getaway scene (Batman on the run from the cops) with a dazzling display of its unique gadgetry. I think this kind of explains why Pfister and Cobould are worried about how they are going to pull it off, because after Inception, I don't think a prison break scene is going to pose much of a challenge for Nolan's crew.

I think the opening sequence should somewhat reflect Bruce's prison sequence from Begins. We open in Santa Prisca, Bane gets in a fight with about six to ten (:hoboj:) prisoners and easily despatch all of them, though it should be made clear that Bane is more of a "brute" fighter. He's detained, thrown in solitary, then (in my version of the opening) Talia appears in the darkness and says something to the effect of "Are you so desperate t

Just imagine a Nolan directed prison break with Bane - interlocked with him narrating how he planned the escape. In such a short time the audience will be aware of what Bane is capable of and see that this version is entirely different from Batman & Robin's.

Whether it is the opening scene or not, Nolan will impress.

nice idea... that would link the two characters in an interesting way !

Holy ****.... this sounds awesome.

A bank heist and a prison break. Two classic staples of film applied to a Batman film from Nolan. Gives me goosebumps.

Man, that would be awesome.

After that, we cut to a quiet scene with Catwoman stealing something, her running into Batman who's been casing her the entire time, and then he gives chase.

And then the police interrupt them in a helicopter, and give chase to Batman. Giving Catwoman the chance to escape.

i would like to not see catwoman in the opening... i think establishing two "villans" is too much... i think focus on one is far more powerful... it allows them to shine and really grab the attention of the audience... and from there, that impression is in the back of their minds.. waiting for his/her next appearnce... 2 would just end up mixing too much of the punch and not really leave a seperate mark... know what i am saying???

If they have a Bane voice-over, I would love if it had something to do with a bat terrorizing him in his dreams...making him have an obsession with Batman finally.

i would like it to be more about how much Freedom batman has compared to Bane... kinda like he hears batman doing pretty much whatever he wants and bane is trapped... and feels what would be more freeing than taking down the bat.... ehh... i will leave the intricate art of voice-overs to better people... just match the presitge nolan...

As much as I like the idea of a prison break for the opening sequence, I think Nolan needs to bring the focus of the movie back to Bruce, and I really feel he needs to start it off by featuring Bruce/Batman. Having him on the run, doing covert s**t, detectiving, whatever, could be really, really good. What I really want to see is a sequence akin to the opening of Batman (1989). I really want to see that criminals aren't sure if he's retired, but they hear stories, and the uncertainty is causing the fear among them. I wouldn't want it to be so explicitly stated (I think Nolan has a problem with executing exposition). Having Batman show up and be the stealthy badass we all know him to be would be phenomenal.

The focus of the movies has never been off Bruce.

I'd love a Bane prison break for the intro.

TDK does feel like an ensemble, but I still feel it is Bruce's story.

The bat emblem, shattered on its horizontal axis. :joker:

Which reminds me, how do you guys think Nolan will use the opening bat symbol this time? First it was the sky and bats, then it was the blue flames, now what?

he won't use it. go right to the movie

Well both were related to a key motif (Bats and Fire) which were both related to a key theme (Fear and Chaos).

So it depends on what the theme is and how it relates to one of the characters which for the life of me I can't think of.

Smoke slowly forming the symbol.

Could even be an Opening Scene of Bane's apprehension, showing him as a petty thug committing a crime, being captured(possibly by Batman) and hauled off into the Gilgamesh wing of the prison.

Then he appears later on in the movie, all jacked up and out for blood with flashbacks to his development as BANE.

Yeah, we'll just have to wait to find out the theme of the film to decide. But it's fun to think about.

Smoke slowly forming the symbol.

Theme aside, I like this one. But it could symbolize the smoke left over from the aftermath of the figurative fire of TDK.

Opening : Bruce meets selina at some fancy do (champagne caviar, tuxedos and dresses the whole shebang) They're getting along great.

Cut to : Batman and catwoman kicking the living daylights off each other on some roof.

Cut to : flirty flirty kissy kissy at the party.

Cut to : catwoman getting away

cut to bruce shouting after selina at the party "call me...."
