Can we have our characters battle and catch wild pokemon. For example, posting something up without really interacting with other characters, to show the progression of our character as a trainer, and well, as a character?

Also, how many years is this after, before, the continuity of the Pokemon Anime, Manga or Games?

I already replied to this on the first page, but:

Yea, you can. Just when you are catching Pokémon please try to make it seem significant and "challenging" in a sense. As SF once mentioned, it should be a big event.



There is no set continuity cut-off point. And really, I think if you wanted to say "y" occurred after "x" happened during "z" it is cool. Not everyone will be up-to-date because some of the players played only the games, and from the games only played certain Generations, and some people follow the show as well or only the show, and some people follow the manga/comic or only the comic. The beauty of this taking place in a new region allows the fluidity of no continuity cut-off point even more. If you want something to be in cannon, make it so with your character. The chance that someone is going to do something that contradicts something you have in cannon is very slim--because the majority of the players on this forum are not well versed in the PokeMythos outside of the games from what I've gathered--and if that situation comes to pass I will discuss the specific situation with my AGMs as well as the players in said situation.

Shade stared at the man who was cowering below him, turned to his black Charizard, then back to the man. "I don't care how confidential your files are."

The man blubbered as he tried to his his words. "I...I...I could lose my job. I have a family."

Shade sighed, visably exasperated. "Charizard, give him a taste of what will happen if he doesn't cooperate."

The Charizard quickly spun around and smacked the man in the gut with its flaming tail, igniting his clothes on fire as he was sent across the room, crashing into a bookcase.

"Aaahh! Oh ****!" He quickly patted his clothes as they burned, putting out the flames.

Shade grabbed him by the scruff of the neck and slammed him hard into the concrete floor. "WE'RE GOING TO DO THIS WITH OR WITHOUT YOU!"

The man stammerred. "You'll never get into the vault. Its two feet of reinforced steel with a complex encryption entry sytem. You kill me and you lose your way in."

Shade stopped for a moment, eying the man with disdain, then slammed him into the ground again. "THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE, DIP****!" He motioned his Charizard closer, then grabbed its tail and pushed it into his face. The smell of burning flesh filled the room as the man let out a horrific scream.

"GYEAH!!!!!! I'll talk!!! I'LL TALK!!!!"

Shade pulled away the flaming tail, the sizzling sound of flesh filling his ears. He grinned slightly. "That's better."

The man held his face in agony. "Oh...my face. Oh ****."

Shade extended his hand and helped the man up. "Once we have what we need I'll get my Umbreon to fix you up." He hesitated, turning back to Charizard. "Don't help us, and I'll let Charizard finish was he started."

The man nodded, almost overcome with pain. "Th...this way." Shade and Charizard walked down the hallway of the building, Charizard's tail charring the walls slightly as they made their way toward the vault. As they reached the vault, the man fumbled at the keypad. "I...I..." He fell to his knees, over come with pain.

Shade grabbed him by the neck, pulling him back onto his feet, screaming heartlessly. "ENTER THE CODE!!!"

The man quickly entered the code and collapsed on the ground. Slowly the vault opened, revealing a large room filled with drawers of files. He turned and looked at Charizard, then the man, then back to Charizard. "Rock Smash. Brick Breaker. Take your pick." He snickered as the man whimpered, then quickly turning back to the vault as the sound of the man's crushing skull filled the vault.

Shade moved through the vault, finding the drawer he was looking for. "Ah...there it is. The Seafoam Island Articuno." He opened the drawer and took every file in it, placing it in his backpack.

Got your eyes set on 'Cuno and Seafoam Islands, eh? Maybe our paths will cross. I don't have much plans concerning the Pokémon right now but he's easily part of my character's family mythos so who knows.

“Gramps…are you sure?” my excitement shows in my question. My grandfather, Professor Oak of Pallet Town, has just told me the most exciting thing I’ve ever heard.

Mew has been spotted again. This time in the Turoko region. My heart pounds in my chest just thinking about it. Only a few short years ago, my friend Red and I saw Mew right outside out homes, and attempted to catch it, not realizing that the being was a legendary, and possibly ancient, Pokemon.

“Yes, Blue,” my grandfather responds as giddy as I am, “and I’m sending you to go look for him.”


I slip my lab coat on and head for the door, "Thanks, Gramps. I don't think I'll be going alone, though."

To remove confusion, I will be removing the Gym Leaders of Toruku region's exemption to the maximum of one Stage II and two Stage II Pokemon. I will be editing the line-up for Vincent as well as the other Gym Leaders as well.

Mr. Marko, only the Pokemon in your storage will have to be edited. The other Pokemon are ok. So when I edit in the updated mini-bio picture for the Gym Leaders, for the sake of removing confusion please edit your application according to the Pokemon I'm going to show him having.

Also after discussing with one of my AGMs about something I ironically was thinking about a few hrs ago but forgot about because I was doing so much picture editing, the application has been edited again. There is nothing to worry about, just states that if you choose to not have ANY Stage II Pokemon then you can have three Stage I Pokemon instead of just two Stage I Pokemon were you to have 1 Stage II Pokemon.

So everyone who has already applied is still ok. If you choose to somehow alter the evolutions of your Pokemon with this amendment to the rule, or if you want to change up some of the Pokemon, feel free to; your application is still good/approved.

Faye was back in the driver seat. Thrilled, driven, ready. Supreme City, the city all trainers eventually strive to go to if they're serious about Pokemon competition. Like other large university cities, it had entire complexes and research areas devoted to cutting edge Pokemon research, and she was a former teacher there. However, both fortunate, and unfortunately, it meant...

"Hey you! Stop there!" a young, slightly high pitched boy's voice called out to Faye's back, causing her to stop and turn, brushing the blonde out of her eyes to peer at who was addressing her.

"A little rude, aren't we?" she quirked a brow.

"I know you're a trainer, and I wanna challenge you," he replied. Faye grinned. This is what she wanted. A chance to fight, a chance to show her strength, learn and grow. She had enough of being behind the lens, simply testing with her Pokemon. Now was her chance to put all those smarts to the test.

"Well then. How could I possibly turn that down?" she reached to her waist, three red and white balls adorned each side of her hip, and she pulled the one on her right side in the middle. "Draw."

The kid wasted no time whatsoever, and threw out a pokeball straight ahead he'd been holding onto since first addressing her, "RATICATE, GO!" A large, brown and white Raticate with large whiskers pops out, ready to roll.

"BASE! I CHOOSE YOU!" Faye yelled back, tossing her pokeball high into the air, and it pops open, splashing the red energy from within to the ground, formulating into a small, green and peach pokemon with ears which looked somewhat like horns, with big white eyes. A munchlax.

"Base? What sort of name for a Pokemon is that?"

"It's a good thing to name your pokemon. When you name it, you get closer to them, and show you care. In return, they'll always fight harder," entirely blowing off the perfectly valid question.

"Whatever... Raticate, Hyper Fang!" and the rat pokemon sprung into action, it's teeth opening wide to find a piece of the munchlax to latch on to, causing the munchlax to cry out and shake it's arm.

"Do it, Base, tackle it!" and Faye's munchlax retaliated in kind. Unfortunately, the raticate was far quicker, more precise, bigger, stronger, and had the advantage of moving first, as it found a mark on Base's arm. "Blast! Base, ROLL OUT!"

The munchlax immediately stopped it's crying and jumped up and forward, then sprung off it's free arm, and then immediately curled into a ball and started spinning rapidly. The impact with the ground, combined with the spinning munchlax sprung the raticate free of Base, and Base immediately rolled off quickly behind the other trainer, who spun around trying to watch him.

"No way I'm letting you get off with that! Raticate, quick attack!" and the raticate took off on all four legs looking to hit the munchlax first, but to no avail. The munchlax's spinning form just bounced the raticate right off, causing Base to swerve a little bit, but got back on track, and wheeled around Faye, coming back in.

"Argh! Alright, Raticate, Hyper Fang again!" and the raticate assumed the same attack pattern it used in the initial attack. The same result, and Base spun behind the other trainer again.

"Everything you got, Raticate. Hyper Fang!"

"You can't beat Roll Out head on like that. You have to know the in's and out's of the attack. Roll Out is a fun attack, in that the longer it's allowed to run, the more powerful it becomes. Sorry kid, but you have to know more about your pokemon, and other pokemon, before you beat me." And with that, Base slammed into the raticate, sending him over Faye's head, and unconcious.

"Match goes to me."

"I'm not done yet!"

"Don't push yourself too hard, kid. Base is one of my weaker pokemon. Don't be in such a rush to hurt your own team on me. Train hard, learn all you can, and come back. I'll always be waiting for a rematch." Faye looked at the kid, who became stoic, tears threatening at his eyes. She walked up to him, putting her hand on his head, "Don't worry too much about it. Your raticate was pretty strong. Continue to train him, and one day he'll be a tough competitor. Come along Base."

With that, Faye began to walk down the street to the Pokemon Center, looking to pick up some chow for Base, as he was whining already, pointing to his mouth.

Being the Adopted son of Giovanni, he isn't very proud of his "fathers" previous work. Now since years have past and Giovanni has attempted to reform himself, he has been training with many of the similar pokemon as his father did. He is striving to be a Pokemon Master. Strong willed, determined and very cunning, he uses much of what his father taught him in battle and even outside of battle.

As he adds the information into his Pokedex, he gets an Email from someone on his phone.

It Reads: Hello son, I know it's been a little while since we last spoke, and I apologize. As you know I cannot enter most of the Kanto region for many reasons, so emailing you is all I have at this point. Anyway, enclosed in this email is a plane ticket to a new region. Many strange Pokemon there and many trainers there who know little about the people of Kanto. You understand what I mean, so also enclosed is a video message for you to watch.
I have a mission for you...

"New Pokemon, New Trainers.. Sounds like my kind of place." He says as he smirks deviously. "I guess I do have to follow in his footsteps"

"It's a good thing to name your pokemon. When you name it, you get closer to them, and show you care. In return, they'll always fight harder," entirely blowing off the perfectly valid question.

"Whatever... Raticate, Hyper Fang!" and the rat pokemon sprung into action, it's teeth opening wide to find a piece of the munchlax to latch on to, causing the munchlax to cry out and shake it's arm.

"Do it, Base, tackle it!" and Faye's munchlax retaliated in kind. Unfortunately, the raticate was far quicker, more precise, bigger, stronger, and had the advantage of moving first, as it found a mark on Base's arm. "Blast! Base, ROLL OUT!"

The munchlax immediately stopped it's crying and jumped up and forward, then sprung off it's free arm, and then immediately curled into a ball and started spinning rapidly. The impact with the ground, combined with the spinning munchlax sprung the raticate free of Base, and Base immediately rolled off quickly behind the other trainer, who spun around trying to watch him.

"No way I'm letting you get off with that! Raticate, quick attack!" and the raticate took off on all four legs looking to hit the munchlax first, but to no avail. The munchlax's spinning form just bounced the raticate right off, causing Base to swerve a little bit, but got back on track, and wheeled around Faye, coming back in.

"Argh! Alright, Raticate, Hyper Fang again!" and the raticate assumed the same attack pattern it used in the initial attack. The same result, and Base spun behind the other trainer again.

"Everything you got, Raticate. Hyper Fang!"

"You can't beat Roll Out head on like that. You have to know the in's and out's of the attack. Roll Out is a fun attack, in that the longer it's allowed to run, the more powerful it becomes. Sorry kid, but you have to know more about your pokemon, and other pokemon, before you beat me." And with that, Base slammed into the raticate, sending him over Faye's head, and unconcious.

"Match goes to me."

"I'm not done yet!"

"Don't push yourself too hard, kid. Base is one of my weaker pokemon. Don't be in such a rush to hurt your own team on me. Train hard, learn all you can, and come back. I'll always be waiting for a rematch." Faye looked at the kid, who became stoic, tears threatening at his eyes. She walked up to him, putting her hand on his head, "Don't worry too much about it. Your raticate was pretty strong. Continue to train him, and one day he'll be a tough competitor. Come along Base."

With that, Faye began to walk down the street to the Pokemon Center, looking to pick up some chow for Base, as he was whining already, pointing to his mouth.

Cool. I'm assuming it was by mistake, but in reference to your sample post I hope that the posts when the IC thread is up won't all be bold for all the narration. Makes it easier to read if all the narration is not bolded. So long as you keep that in mind, looks good.

I'm gonna hold off on applying just yet until the starter town has been created/revealed because that's where my character will live and start his adventure, and not to mention I can't decide which starter pokemon I want yet.

I've yet to come up with names. I am looking at adding in about 3 generic towns which could act like a starter town. One will be on a small island, the other will be near the woods, and the last one will be near Mount Pyre. So as you can see, they are all near some of the three basic elements: water, grass, and fire. I haven't come up with names but if you'd like to suggest, then by all means.

Character's Personality:
Being the Adopted son of Giovanni, he isn't very proud of his "fathers" previous work. Now since years have past and Giovanni has attempted to reform himself, he has been training with many of the similar pokemon as his father did. He is striving to be a Pokemon Master. Strong willed, determined and very cunning, he uses much of what his father taught him in battle and even outside of battle.

As Jonathan, walks through the expansion of the Fuschia City Zoo, he quickly glances at each Pokemon in captivity and Jots the names down on a notepad. "Hmm, Kangaskhan? Giovanni had one of these."
As he adds the information into his Pokedex, he gets an Email from someone on his phone.

It Reads: Hello son, I know it's been a little while since we last spoke, and I apologize. As you know I cannot enter most of the Kanto region for many reasons, so emailing you is all I have at this point. Anyway, enclosed in this email is a plane ticket to a new region. Many strange Pokemon there and many trainers there who know little about the people of Kanto. You understand what I mean, so also enclosed is a video message for you to watch.
I have a mission for you...

"New Pokemon, New Trainers.. Sounds like my kind of place." He says as he smirks deviously. "I guess I do have to follow in his footsteps"

Very cool. Good to see Giovanni referenced since it was only a matter of time. And I like the way you decided to include him in the mythos of the RPG.

Does anyone remember what the real name for Slowpoke Town in Johto was?

What I found was this: Slowpoke Well is a man-made cave located at the edge of Azalea Town of the Johto Region.
