The Pokémon "Turquoise Version" RPG OOC Thread

I've got my 2-D hand sketch of the Toruko Region World Map done as far as the shape and where the major areas are located. Now I just need to assign where the routes go and other landmarks as well as name the three generic towns/villages. Then tonight I will make a sprite World Map.

Looking forward to it!

For everybody else out there, who's looking forward to the Gold/Silver remake in March? That game rocked my world back in the day.

What I found was this: Slowpoke Well is a man-made cave located at the edge of Azalea Town of the Johto Region.

Azalea Town! Yes! We always called it Slowpoke Town since they're EVERYWHERE in that town. :awesome:

Yea I reserved it. I'm getting Soul Silver cause I just hate the way the other Legendary Pokemon looks. :oldrazz:

And apparently they are releasing a limited amount of a sort of Pokemon Tamagachi Pet thing. I don't know if you get one automatically if you reserve or just if you pick it up with your reserve before the stores run out of them.

I'm PUMPED for Gold/Silver remakes. I think I'm gonna be getting Silver, since I got Gold back in the day.

I really like how your started follows you around.

I'll be getting Gold, because a few of my favorite Pokemon are unavailable in Silver.

True, I have no idea who's available in what...

Should probably look that up...

EDIT: I'm getting gold. Growlithe and Mankey are only in it...

Also, how the hell are Groundon and Kyogre in these games!?

HeartGold, cause I always get the "red" version of the games.

God, I'm psyched to put a Typhlosion back on my team.

Trusty, you're thinking of the Pokewalker, which is like what you said, as well as a pedometer (counts your steps). As far as I know, its being included with every copy thought because it connects to the game. You can download one of your Pokemon to it, then carry it around with you, gather powerups or something like that.

The Pre-order bonus is a little statuette of either Lugia or Ho-oh, depending on if you get Silver or Gold.

I'll be getting Silver too, because I always get the "blue" version. :p Except this latest round...I came in late and went straight to Platinum.

Dialga is so much better than Palkia anyway.:awesome:

I dislike the legendaries in D/P/Pt. Frankly, I hate D/P/Pt all together. The only good that came from it are new moves, a FEW of the new Pokemon, the whole network thing for trading Pokemon (but that is really due to it being for the DS, so whatever), and it seems that the moves that can cause ailments actually have a higher rate of causing said ailments.

Other than that, D/P/Pt can go suck it. :o

D/P/Pt were my least favorite as well, except for the starters. Other than R/B/G, they are by far my favorite of the starters.

I absolutely loathe R/S/E's starters, and other than Totodile, I'm not a fan of S/G/C. Speaking of which, I'm editing Sean's app. Instead of Chikorita, I'm going to give him a Turtwig.

Also...why the hell are Kyogre and Groundon listed as Pokemon in HG/SS?

I'm with you for the most part, Trusty. The starters were alright, but IMO they've never been able to do it as good as they did back in Gold/Silver/Crystal. However, the online additions have been pretty impressive. I'm expecting Heart Gold/Soul Silver to be the best one to date. After all, what other games allow you to go through TWO leagues, getting a total of 16 badges?!

Other than R/B/G, my favorite starters are G/S/C only because after the 2nd Gen, I felt that the Fire & Grass Pokemon starters have been kinda gay, but I do like Turtwig in D/P/Pt but I feel that he and his evolutions lack a good amount of Grass moves. What I mean, for majority of the game in terms of Gym Battles? Your best Grass move is Razor Leaf until he learns Leaf Storm or w/e it is called like 30 levels later. Weeeeaaaak.

Yea, again, aside from the Water starters the Grass and Fire starters after G/S/C just haven't been very cool to me. But gameplay-wise I enjoy R/S/E the most but at the same time I cannot recall MUCH of G/S/C but I did love G/S/C more than R/B/Y other than the fact that I couldn't naturally get a Squirtle.

I'm guessing that story-wise they are somehow incorporated. Make sense since they created the Land and the Water. Doesn't bug me much.

Also, I have decided the names for the three generic towns: the water island one is Riptide Village, the grassland one is Weald Town, and the town near Mount Pyre is called Slagville Town. The "Safari Zone" is actually going to be a separate island in the southeastern section of the Toruki Region.

Blasphemy!

You haven't even played R/S/E. I've played them all so I can judge, but I admit I cannot remember almost anything from G/S/C so I'm not sure if I like it more than R/S/E just yet.

Eh, I just don't like a lot of the Pokemon in D/P/Pl. I feel like I kept my entire team together from beginning to end, and not by choice. I felt there was no special pokemon at the end of the game that I really desired.

Exactly. There are like...10 Pokemon out of ALL the new Pokemon introduced in D/P/Pt that I cared for.

I played enough of it to know that the story blew. The Pokemon are okay by me now.

Many of my favorites come from the 4th Gen, and the whole snow route gave me the feeling that I was going to die at any moment. Storywise, 4th Gen felt like the second coming of Johto (which it would wind up being anyway).

G/S/C is the best of them all as far as I'm concerned, but R/B/Y gets equal standing for starting it all, and being one of those video games that everyone should play.

Speaking of which, I just restarted Leaf Green last night. I forgot how great that remake is.
