I'm interested in seeing what, exactly, 'grounded' means with regards to the property.

I'm guessing it'll be something like TASM, where it's sort of realistic but still obviously a comic book movie. If that is the route they're going, it'll be interesting to see how they manage that with something as insane as FF.

If we get the Negative Zone, we can get Malice damn it.... : /

For those open minded for this film. Fox has scheduled FF sequel for july 14 2017.

That says 1:Fox wasn't lying with it's denials of film falling apart and 2:Fox
must think highly of what Tank and writers are planning.

The plot tickens here.

Better served for the constructive thread. Both sides of the discussion can talk about it without the obvious baiting. Maybe.

They've gotten the genders of the characters right... so far. :applaud

Here's something positive: I want the FF in this movie to get their powers from a place called the Positive Zone, a place that makes everyone happy and friendly, giving them My Little Pony-like powers and when Doom shows up they trick him into the zone and he becomes their friend.

I can't wait to learn if this will be a period piece or present day. I'm loving the era approach of the X-Franchise

They're going to borrow a time machine from the X-men and go back in time to September of last year in order to get the movie out on time.

That would be neat. But what period? The 60s? The X-universe has already moved on from that period.

To line up they'd have to be 80s onwards. I would've loved the 60s, imo that's the best era for the F4. They make most sense in that time period

Clearly Fox has enough faith in this project that a sequel was greenlit.

if you're talking Mad Men era, then i agree. that's what i associate them with. their villains might fit into that era a little better; as well.

Well, except for the "being a separate character who is a Skrull called Kl'rt" part.

the Ultimate Universe had a decent story involving the skrulls; pretending to be a benevolent species and giving everyone on Earth super powers (while secretly feeding on them).

I'm curious how this cast will work on screen cause it seems to be so radically different than what I know. That not knowing of what to expect is pretty exciting to me as a viewer. I hope I'm able to go into this with only the vaguest of ideas.

I think I get what you mean. These days so much is shown that by the time the movie releases we've almost seen parts of every actions sequence and lot of plot points.

Fox has been good with the marketing in that we don't know too much about DOFP.
