I think Maggie looks great in the trailer, especially when she looks up at Bruce from her table with those wonderfully expressive baby blue eyes. Thumbs up on this casting.
so beautifull in this scene...

It's gonna sound stupid but I'd like to have a clear mind about this:

Why didn't Katie returned for the part !

I heard a lot of things but nothing seems clear to me ! Is the WOW promo the real thing ?

Scheduling conflicts - nothing more :cwink:

Least we have better actress in the movies.....

I'm not that sure...what did she have to do ?

This has propably been discussed already but just for the record...am I the only one who never really sensed any kind of romantic chemistry between Bale and Holmes?

That is actually my only real complaint when it comes to Batman Begins. I mean there was some genuine caring going on between those two but nothing special. Even the kiss in the end was just "meh". And I know about good kisses! :woot:

Maybe I come off as a romantic wussy right about now but I missed that good ol' sexual tension. Of course sexual tension wasn't needed when Bruce and Rachel were just kids...I mean that would've been disturbing. But when they grew up...there should've been more sparkles between the two.

I hope this thing is handled better in TDK. I'm not hoping for some major romantic sub-plot(although there obviously is some kind of love triangle) but it would be nice to feel some serious chemistry between Bale and Gyllenhaal. Damn, I want at least one sexy scene! There, I said it.

i thought the same thing. however maggie is a tenX better actress so im sure there will be more SPARKS as it were.

I rather like my Batman so consumed with his "mission" that he has no time for love... he'll pretend and all as BW but it's never really more than a front. I would be ok with a batman movie completely devoid of romantic interest... maybe a little bit of sexual tension a la BR but never any love.

I'm with you, babe! I don't wanna see actual dating, pillow talking and all that jazz in a Batman movie. But I wanna feel that Bruce and Rachel are more than just childhood friends. You know. Some real sparkles. When two people give each other that look and the sexual anticipation is in the air...I wanna see some passion!

Harvey gets Rachel and makes Bruce jealous....:o

Exactly. Although Bruce should remain consumed with the mission, he's still flesh and blood, not a machine (although he might like to be). I can see him longing to be with Rachel, but struggling with the need to suppress those emotions for the greater good. It will be interesting to see what Bruce makes of Rachel's possible relationship with Dent.

Shocking for me to admit this but when I saw the trailer I actually wanted Katie back. I thought there was some sparkage with her and Bale but then again I dont think BB was meant to be a soap opera on his love life.

You forgot the part where Bruce gives up being Batman so that he can win back Rachel, when he clearly could have done so earlier.

There was no chemistry between Bale and Holmes. None. Nada. So, Maggie doesn't really have to do much to improve on that front. Honestly, all she had to do was show up.

Very true. Does anyone remember the scene where Finch pulls Rachel to the side and pleads with her to let Crane and Falcone be? If you look closely, Katie lowers her head slightly and (actually) smirks, mere seconds before she continues to converse with Finch.

Katie does her smirking/smiling crookedly throughout the movie. It's like she's recovering from Bell's Palsy. She also does the smiling/smirking thing in the Bruce slapping scene. I think the girl can't help it. She's got a crooked mouth and whenever she tries to show emotion, it looks like she's smirking. I guess it worked for her in Dawson's Creek. Not so much in Batman Begins.

I always thought Holmes was a wet blanket weighing down an otherwise flawless movie (acting wise)

everytime she says "its not who you are underneath, but what you do that defines you" I cringe and die a little bit inside.

what a terrible line.

But then we wouldn't get Bruce repeating that line in the end if she didn't say it.

"It's not what I am underneath, but what I DOOOOoooooOOOoooOOOoooOooo that defines me."

it could have been a different line like "finders keepers"....:whatever:

You guys are way too demanding. I thought that line was pretty good as far as superhero movies are concerned.
